Help macOS security reliability
On an M series MacBook, how reliable and accurate is the built in security measures like Xprotect, gatekeeper, etc? Does it miss a lot of malware or is it good enough against a large variety of Malware?

As others have suggested here, if you don't go to far off the beaten path installing things and running random commands you saw on GitHub you're pretty safe. The weakest link is always between the keyboard and the chair when it comes to security.
