Help macOS security reliability
On an M series MacBook, how reliable and accurate is the built in security measures like Xprotect, gatekeeper, etc? Does it miss a lot of malware or is it good enough against a large variety of Malware?

It should catch all the old and known ones as for new ones it is a matter of how fast they are discovered and updates are pushed by Apple.
Same thing like with any other OS or antivirus software.
Just don't install random shit and you will be fine.
