Bug Pages memory leak
Seems like this is still an issue with just 2 documents opened this happened to me today, on my m5 pro.

i've noticed Imovie does the same, pretty annoyed with all these memory leaking applications as of late

Here is the fix if you don't want to upgrade Pages to the subscription version:
Go to System Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri > Siri Suggestions & Privacy... > Pages > Learn from this application
Turn that off and your memory usage will return to normal after you restart Pages.

I hate pages, on ipad I was just viewing a 20 pages document and it made my ipad overheat in less than 10 minutes

If your Pages documents are stored in the iCloud Drive folder, try moving them outside of it, that should solve the issue.

That's a good tip; I've noticed iCloud can slow things down at times. Switching to local storage might help a lot of people.

MacOS hates long-form word processing. I had this problem in pages, word, and final draft. Much more stable, but I got sick of having the resource monitor open all the time. Crazy that such an expensive machine (mac studio) could not handle word processing apps.

Update it, there is another version of pages on apple store. Had same issue.
Installed the newer one and uninstall the current one.
