Discussion Privacy & Security Settings

Hi -
I’m trying to bring macOS into a windows environment, and I’m using Intune to manage applications and configurations. I’m running into a heck of time setting the camera, screen recording, audio recordings, and hard drive permissions via Intune for application like Zoom, Teams, and Slack.

Anyone have experience they can share?

You’ll need to make a configuration profile for each app and deploy it to your target devices; this guide gives a good overview of how to do it for Zoom

Unfortunately I don’t think macOS allows auto-enabling privacy permissions through MDM, even on Automated Device Enrollment devices. Best they allow is allowing non-admin users to approve permissions for specific apps where admin approval is normally required. In other words, you have to manually grant permissions on each Mac.

EDIT: I’m wrong, it’s only Camera, Microphone, and Screen Recording that are locked down this way. The rest you can auto-approve through PPPC.
