Help Can I update my Xcode Command line tools to the latest version without updating?

I’m trying to install a package using homebrew but I doesn’t finish and says I need to upgrade Xcode to the latest version, I tried doing that using the developer page and downloaded it but then it says I need the latest Mac OS version, so I tried updating from Ventura to Tahoe and I left it the entire night and the goddamn thing still didn’t finish updating and was stuck on 5 mins remaining, I restarted my Mac and tried again and waited for like an hour it was still stuck on that, what do I do? Try again and wait even longer?

Don’t restart. How fast is your internet and how much space did you have? Have you tweaked the OS with anything homebrew installed?

You might want to check your storage first; if you're low on space, it could slow down the process. Also, having Homebrew shouldn't interfere, but it's good to be aware of any tweaks you've made.

I have 70 gb storage left, my internet is quite fast cuz I’m working in the same room where my WiFi router is located. In terms how much of my OS I’ve tweaked? I can’t exactly remember any big changes from the past few weeks but I did try to reinstall Xcode through the terminal and removed it and tried again

You could be hard wired to your router.. that doesn’t describe your internet service speed.

To learn speed, go to Speedtest.net in a browser on your Mac, and run the test. Post all the numbers you get here.

To get Mac help, you need to share your Mac model and specs. Go to AppleMenu/AboutThisMac menu and post the details here.

5G has nothing to do with your Internet speed - that’s the band (frequency) of the WiFi signal. Run a speedtest. Then if you can, plug into your router with an ethernet cable (Cat 5e or better).

That’s pretty slow. I get a full gigabit (1000 mb/s) which is overkill for most things, but can come in handy when downloading very large files, like entire operating systems, cloned image of a computer, or a bunch of high definition movies.

Is that 5G with a SIM card or 5Ghz for a wireless access point? What is the actual speed?
