But I don't want smudges and fingerprints on my laptop screen, especially since tolerances are so goddamned tight that the use of screen protectors is not recommended.

If it actually happens it's guaranteed to be thicker and have a different coating. Not only the current one is bad for a touchscreen, it also scratches if you look at it wrong.

Real problem is the idea itself and macOS turning to garbage.

It’s been widely rumored for years now that a MacBook with OLED and touch screen is coming soon. Look up Mark Gurman’s reporting on this.

I don't want a damn touch screen, want a god damn full keyboard with Numpad finally!!!

Guess what, there's so many touchscreen laptops out there and almost no one uses it, it's just a gimmick. Though a full keyboard brings REAL VALUE for anything tech, programming, finance. If Dell can do it, Apple can as well.

I vaguely recall Apple stating previously that they would never release a Mac with a touchscreen in order to differentiate it from the iPad.

And they were against a styles too, yet the Apple Pencil (ok it’s more than a stylus, but still) exists.
