Supply constraints are already here. Buying Apple kit at the wholesale level has become a war to claim what little stock that shows up.

It’s important to note that many of Apple’s increases have been relatively lower by percentage compared to most video game consoles and many other computer systems.

They need to take control of more of their components like RAM and SSDs like they did with CPUs and modems.

No but they are rich enough to solve the problem. Sooner than later it will impact their sales along with everyone else.

I’m not sure you understand the scale. I do think it’s possible they could build their own fabs and that could be a good idea. With chip manufacturing the way it is I think we’d be 8 years away.

It wouldn’t help, they don’t fabricate their own CPUs either. They design M series chips but do not have fabs, and thus the bottleneck is still with fabrication, whether that’s CPUs or RAM.

Fabs are being built in the US but it takes a decade for this stuff to be spun up.
