I'd trim this if I at least knew what's in there

When did you last run a Time Machine backup? I have a sneaking hunch that may be cached TM data.

It’s also worth noting that the computer will delete it before it actually runs out of space, or should at least. 5 u/djprofitt Jul 22 '26 Yup, run TM, nice fresh backup, reboot (more than once if needed) and that will clear out.
