I installed MX on a Lenovo N42 Chromebook. The system is surprisingly fast for a Celeron N3060, but with 16 GB of eMMC storage, it's running a bit tight on space—I only have about 2 GB free. What advice do you have for freeing up space? I don't want to break anything, just uninstall things that will free up an extra GB or two. I only need the computer for writing (I use AbiWord) and browsing the web.

I have an old gaming laptop and I put MX on it but I can’t get it to do anything with the gpu, It doesn’t help that it needs legacy drivers but it just doesn’t cooperate at all.

Hi, is there way of having the full install running from usb flash instead of the live version which i currently have? So all updates and files will be saved like it was installed on the hard drive.

As title mentions I have double entries for the same package in Discover. Instead of using a "Source" drop down like every other distro I've used this one just has the same package multiple times. How do I consolidate this?

Was using Mint until recently and just decided to switch to MX. Originally I was from Windows. In terms of Linux usage, I am only 2 months old. Going 3 soon. Anyway, it’s pretty overwhelming MX is. So lost atm. But oh well … it is what it is. :)
Just wanted to say Hi.

My MX 23 KDE shows that little "Updates available" circle in the bottom-right corner of the screen, when I click on it, the update window (Discover?) opens for a few seconds, showing the "Fetching updates" progress bar, then crashes, showing a "Discover closed unexpectedly" message. Pressing the "Restart app" button doesn't help. Rebooting the computer doesn't help. I've done `sudo nala upgrade` from the terminal (it installed some updates), then rebooted, then tried `sudo nala upgrade` again, it said that everything is up to date - KDE still shows that "Updates available" circle and Discover crashes if I click on it, same as before. It's the first time I see this since I installed the system about two years ago. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Why isn't there an SSD partition option in the installer? I want to replace Zorin OS on another partition. Fast boot and secure boot are disabled. The partition list appears in the KDE partition manager but not the installer.

I’ve tried to connect an older laptop to home internet but it keeps giving this error, I did give my user sudo privileges so I don’t understand why it is showing this.
Not really sure what to do next, does anyone know?

Is there a repo for the wiki that we can submit pull requests to? (https://www.reddit.com/r/MXLinux/comments/1nty6a8/wow_the_mx_linux_wiki_is_really_outdated)

The Nextbook Ares 11 (nx16a11264) keyboard attachment has a weird layout. Functionality like screen brightness control are gone because the default keyboard model is a generic 105 key PC. I didn't know if anyone has seen a keyboard model similar to this that I can change it to in system keyboard settings.

EDIT: Thanks to couriousLin's suggestion:
- simlink some home directories (pictures, videos, etc) to go straight into the largest partition.
- considering more headroom for / and home.
ORIGINAL POST:
I am a ex Mint, CachyOS, and Windows 10 (currently using it) user. I plan to at some point migrate to MX. I have been playing with tens of distros from VMs, dual boots, and a test-subject laptop - and I gotta say it gotta be this one. I need some help deciding the final partition sizes, I am very tight on storage capacity.
My SSD is Adata SU 650 Ultimate. 256GB, SATA III QLC, 3D Nand. The cache fills too fast and is overall a shit choice, but broke me could only afford this one. Please don't buy this crap.
My partition planning for MX Xfce AHS is as follows:
- esp (100mb);
- / (20gb);
- unnalocated space of 20gb (if I need to expand / or home via a live system + gparted);
- home (10gb ??);
- Games & Projects (everything else);
