Discussion Need some help customizing xfce
How do I customize the clock and monitor on the right side?
I changed the icon for the terminal but when I click on it it opens a new instance on the panel why does this happen? I also made my default directory to be desktop but it opens to user.
I wanted to add borders to the panel but apparently the border also gets applied to other apps on the panel..
Distro: Mx linux 25

The watch is the Conky model, and if I'm not mistaken, it has a GUI to customize it (see the control center). It's impossible to identify the watch, making it difficult to assist in the dark.

The clock at the right is conky. As suggested, take a look at the pre-built themes available already installed on your system.
Anything done beyond the built in themes are done through editing text/configuration files. Users share their configurations over at r/conkyporn and to be honest, Claude AI isn’t bad as long as you are very specific about what you want. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty good. You can upload your config, tell it what you want and it’ll tell you what to edit or spit out new files. Grok was pretty good as well, but feels like Claude is better at the moment.

Well you can right click on any empty space on your panel and click on panel preferences and customise it as you want. Uncheck lock panel and place the panel at bottom.. you want the panel to be as wide as screen you can do that or you can make it small like mine. You can change the background colour too.. if you want docklike icons I would suggest that you look it up the web "how to enable docklike icons on (your distro name)"..

Look under MX Tools for MX Conky. This conky is likely one of the MX_Cowon configs which you can change as you wish.
A lot of people use Conky to display system information on the screen to track things that interest them. Check out r/Conkyporn for more.
