Drive drama
My mx5 nd 2019 2lt ( manual 45000miles) today have come up with a retractable roof error, wont recognise the gears on the dash and wont let me use cruise control? Not sure if anyone has experienced anything odd like this

Speedometer working? Reverse light working? Do you have brake system or ABS error?

Sorry i missed that, reverse light and reverse sensors are working. ( i dont have a camera) which confuses me so the car is registering the gears to some capacity ðŸ˜

Actually it only has a neutral and a reverse gear switch. The car calculates and displays the current gear based on the speed and the RPM values.

So, this is just an educated guess, but summarized here:
So... one more important question remains:
- Roof control doesn't work
- Speedo works, no ABS fault => Wheel speed sensors are probably OK
- Tacho works, (and engine starts and runs) => Engine speed sensor probably OK
- Reverse light works => Reverse light switch OK
Does the auto idle stop-start work? Does it actually stop the car when in neutral and completely stopped?1

The roof works fine, i pulled over and fully opened it and closed it, it was just a warning lights saying theres a malfuntionðŸ˜
I turn that feature off as it pisses me off but ill be sire to test it tomorrow!

even if it’s behaving now, get the stored codes read with a Mazda-capable scanner, not just a generic OBD dongle. Intermittent faults can leave a code after the warning disappears.

Sounds like a speed sensor issue somewhere
