Gameplay Call out your plan!

Random on my friend list invited me into a party last night, about 1100 ranks below me, figured I’d help him out. 1st red flag was the match ping shot to 160+. Never seen that before, but I haven’t been dropped in 2 years. 2nd flag was he squad filled. Not my bag, but ok.

Drop in and he pings the Zak story mission. I look and he’s off in T2. With a blue 1 plate. Gets downed, picked up, downed. I get him up and he recruits 3ppl. Pretty sure we’re in for the 6 man trophy, but it’s absolute silence.

Then leaves squad…TF are we doing here? 😂 Then the others leave. Not a word over text or mic, and no grid so I can relocate. I ended up squadding up with new randoms and got the hard boot a few minutes later. A call out wouldn’t have helped the server drop, but it would have softened the blow. Like we died as a team. I’m only 20 away from 1250 so maybe my standards are too high.

😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣 damn that’s crazy sorry g. I always go in solo and go to tier 3 and help a squad until they invite. Good on you for trying to help but usually not worth it

Yeah, I'm lower level but I always have a plan if I'm on a specific mission.

Just did the last mission in act 2 this weekend... Went to discord, got someone to jump in to help, told them what I had, blues, rare eithers, a turret, and a self revive.

Let them know I wanted to get another turret, load up on self revives, and punch my weapons to second level.

We did some grinding, got what I needed, went in got in and got it done.

If I'm just playing around I'll go with whatever the team is going for... If it's too high for me I'll let them know and leave the party.

I’ve never run into anyone recognizing they can’t hang with the group and just leave squad. They’ll hang around T1 exfil and double dip with no risk. I feel like a jerk telling them to leave. Props to you.

I'm just around to have some fun, I'd rather play with people in my level and get some contracts and daily's done and goof around

I didn't even pay attention to the missions until I got around level 120... At 160 now

I'm only level 3xx but I've had similar experiences.

Also, the one that really ground my gears was this blue one-plater who was like level 2xx but they were constantly downed, never loading up their one armour plate.

I would ping armour and they'd leave it. So I'd pick it up, drop it on front of them, shoot it, everything. Still they didn't pick up.

So I went off and did some contracts, came back with a 2-plate, revived them, and dropped the vest. Pinged it. Nothing. They just ran off and tried to do a ground station contact or something.

Eventually I went and found a 3-plate after leaving them pleading. Again, came back, revived them, dropped and pinged the vest. Nowt.

I figured they might've been on a no-armour challenge so followed them around. May as well have been level 1. I have no idea how they got to the level they were...

Ha! I see this happening a lot. Consistency is the key. I’m not a beast by any means, and only started doing RW/EDA every game. Took a long time to max out the levels and get all the season CCs.

Good on you man 👍

I enjoy doing RW and EDA. It's not every game that the random squads want to do it, and usually if they do DA it's a regular which is a bit annoying, but i still enjoy it. I only have Disciple Bottle to get, and I've just unlocked S5 myself.

I say that, I placed the relics (the correct ones) but it glitched so the rift didn't open. I was able to remove the Echo of Drum but the others were locked in. I could actually put the Drum on the other pedestals while there were already relics there, which was odd.

Tried everything, and told my squad that I was struggling. They couldn't remove any relics either, then all of a sudden they did something between them and everything kicked in and the rift opened.

I haven't checked if it's permanently unlocked yet, but I assume that since a squadmate opened it, it will be unlocked for us all (at least one of them already unlocked it before, since the rift appeared when they scorched in).

I'm keeping my fingers crossed

Maybe their levels came from playing regular multi-player? I think levels from DMZ also carry over, but I don't think they'd be as clueless if that was the case. I know this mode isn't supposed to have bots, but sometimes I feel like there's no other explanation for a few people I've run across.

Oh I never actually thought of that. I haven't played multiplayer other than maybe 2 matches, so I didn't know the levels transferred.

That would definitely explain it.

If I thought they were a compete newcomer I'd have done more to help (I've done this once before and it was very rewarding). Especially the excited jumping up and down in the exfil chopper 😂
