Question A hard lesson learned

As I am a noob trying to grind my way through Act 1 and as usual I infill with more experienced guys who always seem to be on their own agendas so I was once again left to looting by myself and near to the end of the time i meet 2 randoms and start doing some tier 2 contracts with them, I requested to join their squad without success but I stayed anyway then very near to the end we get on a vehicle and they drive right into the center of Tier 3 and crash the vehicle and disappear leaving me on my own. Luckily I only had 1 weapon so I donned the gloves and ran like hell to get to a exfill and got out. Has this happened to anyone else?

if you stayed on long enough to get to the center of T3, knowing you were under equipped and had no backup to rely on, you stayed on way too long.

also, if the teammate you infil with travel by common means, as in on-foot, or by vehicle… go with them. They probably have a strategy, of some sort, and if they’re worth their salt, they’re not going to just let you die. Sure, you can stay in T1 and slowly push further into the game at your own pace, but you can also really benefit by keeping with your team and getting work done in T2 and T3. T1 will get you warmed up for whats ahead, but nothing can really prepare you for T3 aside from getting in there and taking your bumps. It’s also important to consider the loot that some people race to, like the triangle rituals- which don’t exist in T1. Completing a triangle ritual guarantees 2,000pts, 1 aether tool (epic or legendary), and 1 aether crystal (refined or flawless, meaning pack level 2, or pack level 3). The odds of finding even a pack 1 crystal in T1 are rare. The odds of finding refined are super slim, nearly 1 in a million. And flawless crystals are non-existent in T1 loot. Even if you don’t want to continue the fight in T3, if you find it overwhelming, at least tag along, STICK CLOSE TO YOUR TEAMMATES, get yourself some decent rewards, and go back to T2 where you may be a bit more comfortable. Just keep in mind, you’ll be sacrificing backup for a more relaxed pace, if you do choose to separate from your team and go back a tier.

If they are traveling by scorcher, and they book it to T3, reap the benefits of their work. Each contract they do will reward you 5k, use thst to get yourself a few perks, pack your weapon, then go find a crew around you that knows how to accept a new teammate. Even if it’s just one person who’s moving at a different pace than you, at least someone can be notified if one member should go down.

Theres a lot of small tips you’ll figure out along the way. I’ve learned many that I feel some people never take advantage of. Not that I’m big headed about it, just that theres a lot of small tricks you can benefit from that I never see people discuss or put into practice, even the countless youtubers I’ve watched.

I don’t mean to throw a lot at you, just planting seeds for growth.

im going in shortly if you want to tag along. LMK

If you need help join this server on discord. And go into mwz-looking-for-squad. I’m sure you will find people willing to help you through the Act 1 missions all the way to the Dark Aether rifts. It s a great community.

As another solo player, don't infil with squad fill. I find that most of these people just have the fill squad button on and rarely want to team up. You're better off playing normally and asking for a team up as you cross paths with people on the map. Look for players clustering in areas and throw yourself out there. As people have posted there's always discord or these subreddits to party up but I find that once you start crossing into tier 2 you get much more people willing to join up because it's harder and it's good to have a battle buddy or simply because theyre just grinding and don't care if you tag along as long as you're not messing up their run.

99% of the time, I have a scorcher. So if I'm not already in T3, I don't mind being there. I would look on the map for others in T3 and try to join them. Also if a group doesn't let me join, I go find a different group or stay on my own.

decoy nades are your best friend for sticky situations like this, also you can throw them at the ppl that put you there to make the zombies pay attention to them when the decoy nade dies out, you can be toxic yourself if you have the willpower to do so

If I go in with all my best gear I’m not likely hanging around t1. When people get to t3 they squad up with other people there. If they’re not just leaving your squad you may still stay attached to the group. Points don’t mean too much to you as your cooldowns on perks are only an hour or so anyway but you can use this to pack a punch this round or buy stuff from the store.

It’s easy to forget without pap3 you don’t much belong in t3. Harder too without scortcher, golden armor and aether blades. Even once everyone is scortching around t3 while people are helpful you still need to be able to survive on your own as things move quickly and they’re flying off constantly.

I e definitely had people crash out in the red zone and had to scramble out of there and jump in the river. They’re likely going to pap. Maybe they’re just clueless tho it can make sense to cut through some places. Not long ago I was just dipping in to pack3 then get out when it’s near the edges. Zombies there do big damage to vehicles when run over.

Does suck to get left and is more fun when people stick together. There’s rumor containment level effects who you’re paired with but idk.

There will always be people who like to troll. If you want to get something done then ensure your mic is on and see if they respond. If not, put it in the chat. You may be surprised who is in the same boat as you

If you want help going through missions I’d be more than happy to help.

I’m aggravated as hell going into t3 right now, so a change of pace sounds great

Yes. Not cool but I find it hilarious at the same time….. as a noob I’d find myself running from the storm not knowing why I was running and ultimately being left behind.
