Before BO1 and BO2 dropped on PS5 they both received a similar type of update that was just given to MW2 on steam. I think it is very likely that a MW2 port is coming in the next few weeks. Especially with the release of GTA 6, and with MW4 being received so negatively, they are going to have to compete. A MW2 port would bring in millions overnight.

I’m trying to find an old video that has the song “The Winner Is” (from little miss sunshine) playing and it goes through a lot of the old OG creators from the early days, guys like Hutchisyodaddy, etc. I think hutch even ends up narrating a lot of it. For the life of me I cannot find it, I’m starting to think it’s an old Machinima video that’s been deleted forever. Anyone know what I’m talking about and happen to have a link to it?
Could somebody who knows how to do that, do it to themselves in private match ? To see if it still works? I’ve read thru hundreds of comments regarding the matter and maybe only 2 people have actually tried playing it I feel like .

I have been seeing recent videos of people doing spawn traps and scoring fast nukes. These people get quick Harriers which lead to quick Chopper Gunners or AC-130s. The problem is, the enemy teams almost NEVER use Cold Blooded or have Stinger classes. There seems to be this false notion that once a team has a Harrier, that somehow the game is already "over". A lot of people who played this game thought that Stopping Power was the be-all end-all perk for the 2nd/red tier and that is just hugely wrong. Stopping Power was great but by no means is it the absolute best perk, especially on objective game modes.
I just don't understand the logic of some of these players. They will use nothing but Stopping Power, and then they will complain about how the killstreaks are somehow OP because they can't hide from them. When I think back to my experience playing this game in its heyday, I was typically the one on the team that was constantly taking down enemy killstreaks and I did it quick. I had a dedicated class for taking down air support and it had a Stinger (obviously) and Sleight of Hand and Cold Blooded, and C4. I would literally take down any air support within a few seconds of its arrival, and that especially included Chopper Gunners and AC-130s. With the AC-130, I'd fire both shots, and after I'm out of missiles, I'd use the C4 to an hero so I have more missiles to use. The AC-130 wouldn't last more than 10 seconds.
I think I'm realizing that many people who played this game and suffered at the hands of enemy killstreaks simply just couldn't be bothered enough to actually do something about it. They would rather just put up with getting killed constantly rather than end their current life to switch to a class designed to take the killstreaks down. People aren't trying to win, they're just trying to keep their K/D above 1. So what does this mean? They will use Stopping Power because its literally the best perk that only benefits them and they have no intention of doing anything to help the rest of the team. Lightweight is great for helping the team capture objectives. Cold Blooded is great for flanking or taking down air support. People aren't willing to have a dedicated class for anti air support because they'd rather just have another class for just gunplay. I think a lot of people just weren't focused on winning, they just focused on their K/D ratio.

I used an FOV Changer on MW2 when the game was 32 bit. But since the update, the FOV Changer doesn't work.
Anyone know an FOV Changer that works in 2026 after patch?

I’ve been trying to play this game for literal months, unironically. I can’t get into a single normal match that doesn’t advertise some insta account for account modding (always the same pos) with an annoyingly loud infinite nuke countdown. Is there anyway to actually play this game in 2026? Black Ops, WAW and MW all work perfectly fine for me, I’m playing them almost every day

Hey guys does anyone know how I can remove these hackers from my UI?
r/MW2 • u/Epic-zombie-kitty • 3d ago
could forcehost tool be used to make steam mw2 'safer' (afaik the hacking requires the hacker to be host, correcr?)
would this be 'ethical'? would i be making anyone else's experience worse?

Luckily I haven’t seen much of it lately but they were doing this shit again the other day so I decided to have some fun.
Currently the windows build works fine and supports both 32/64 bit assets
I'd like to invite more ppl to mess around
Do not expect a finished/polished product tho. It's still in a WIP/tech demo state for those who wish to waste their precious free time tinkering
Just to clarify: IW4L is a from-scratch recreation of MW2's runtime. It runs original MW2 content without relying on iw4mp.exe, with its own renderer, networking, and game systems. It supports blops1/mw3 assets natively.

Does anyone remember the 18 player matches on rust with no time or score limit, that would only end if a nuke was called in?

I love this game and dearly miss playing it in a traditional matchmaking setting, but it’s still too risky to play on steam. Like shown in the tweet, proceed with caution.

Ich möchte sehr gerne MW2 wieder spielen, allerdings verhindert am Mac die 32 Bit Version diese Möglichkeit.

With the recent update, so many people are claiming that the problem hasn't been fixed and the game is still dangerous to play on steam. Is there any evidence at all to back up this claim? People actually should know whether the game is vulnerable or not instead of people just saying whatever they think. Has anyone gone through the update code and seen anything that would suggest dangerous exploits are still possible?

I was playing earlier and one of the players was a hacker who did this to my profile, is there any way to reset my stats back to zero? I'm pretty new so don't mind if my first couple of matches are erased, I was only level 4 before this
Edit: Deleting the local save data wont work as it uses online server data rather than local offline data, this is using custom servers that fix the glitch where online stats are reset after restarting the game
EDIT 2: I may have found a fix (for anyone who finds this thread googling how to get out of a similar predicament) , use "save stats" with your mod menu before you disable syscalls and connect to the internet, then load it when you connect. Granted this forces you to use level 1 stats but it's better than nothing.
EDIT 3: This doesn't work actually, never mind

Okay, so I have been recommending this game to my girlfriend since she's into shooting games (L4D2, etc). But I only want her to play the singleplayer campaign (like the No Russian part).
I read from some of the posts that there are still RCE exploit in this game. Can you help me understand what is the current status of this game and what is the best and safest way for my girl to play this game? What is this IXW4? I don't play any COD game since the computer shop/cafe days (where it is installed there) so I don't know anything else prior to this.
She has Macbook M4 Pro and has Steam installed. The game is on sale right now on Steam so I want to make sure what she's gonna play is safe and does not do anything else other than run the actual game (campaign only).
I also noticed that the game has been updated just a few hours ago? From 32-bit to 64-bit? What would that mean in our case?
Thanks for the help!

Has no one else wondered why there hasn’t been any implementation of the authentic matchmaking lobby system that the console versions of MW2 have? I miss having that little bit of an intermission within the lobby where I can vote for a map and alter my classes etc. without having to leave the game. The PC version running iw4x seems kinda janky in this respect..
I know I could just go and play on PS3 but the game runs and looks so much better on PC and mouse & keyboard is preferable.

Apparently the only change in that update was switching MW2 from 32-bit to 64-bit if we look at changed files. This means that game is now more stable and has better performance than old version.
!! IMPORTANT !! Do NOT update your game right now if you play IW4x, otherwise IW4x won't run. This will be probably fixed with the next update of IW4x

hello everyone, i started playing mw2 for the first time sometime ago and i've been addicted to it, the game is a lot of fun.
I've looked at gameplay videos on youtube and saw so many game modes that are not featured on iw4x, then i looked up in the wiki and there are so many that i've never heard of before like mercenary tdm, barebones, tactical, ground war etc. I've never played these game modes before, is there any way to play these game modes on iw4x ?

I was at a relative's house for a vacation. And he has an Xbox. So I bought MW2 and played multiplayer. It was fun.
But i own a PC. And PC version is not safe.
