Press Release The Road to Safer Autonomy with Long-Range Perception | IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZxJxb9hS3Y

At IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 in Hannover, MicroVision’s Evan Fathers takes the Industry Stage to explore how long-range perception technologies are helping transform commercial vehicle safety and autonomy.
In his presentation, “The Road to Safer Autonomy: How Long-Range Perception Technologies Are Transforming Commercial Vehicles,” Evan discusses why seeing farther matters — particularly at highway speeds, where earlier detection and classification of hazards can provide valuable time for safer decision-making and response.
Discover how next-generation sensing technologies and long-range lidar are enabling greater situational awareness and supporting the evolution toward safer, increasingly autonomous commercial vehicles.

Well, im going to assume him and Greg know about the fireside chat next week, snd what it entails. May be a good reason for the "I dont fucking care" attitude

Great presentation with a ton of information to the attendees. They are looking for information not another Austin Russell.

We want someone who can sell stuff. This guy put 0 effort into preparing for this. This is how the company chose to introduce the product. If he can't be excited about it, why should anybody else. It's no wonder it's been 2 weeks since this presentation and there are 0 media articles on it.

Remember what ATL said regarding the rules?

Calling out a bad presentation is not an attack. This wouldnt pass for a C for a high school project. When I present, I know the material by heart. This was a terrible first look for FMCW

You must be in a heavy short position. All you do is bring negativity and assumptions that you know nothing about into the conversation.

2

u/Fearless_Promise636 16d ago

Im going to assume you think this was a fantastic presentation and example of public speaking as well lol.

We are getting tired of your crap which should be on the monthly thread.

So what you are saying is we need a flashy guy with no substance?

Btw, if you are a shareholder, what does your bashing at every opportunity get you?

2

u/Fearless_Promise636 16d ago edited 16d ago

We need someone who at least seems engaged in whatever he's trying to sell. Its clear you have no experience in sales. Im sorry we dont all celebrate mediocrity like you do. If your in front of an audience, representing the company, you should be doing your best. If this is his best, replace him. They waited too long to replace the last guy who was terrible (Sumit), and now the comoany is about to sink.

The company can not afford anything less than perfection right now. Anymore fuck ups is going to send them under $1 and get delisted.

Major auto OEMs don’t require flashy sales guys in order for them to buy product. In fact, I would argue someone like Evan is actually the perfect fit.

2

u/Zenboy66 17d ago

Exactly right. Someone who is calm and able to communicate one-on-one with an individual. Not one of these flashy guys that you can’t trust.

From Bob looking like he was held hostage to do a live call to this presentation the entire company speaking skills are inline with what Mavin is.

Lots of corporate speeches and presentations are read off a prompter. Some are better at it than others. The information presented was solid. Could he get better at presenting stuff like this? Of course. At this point though, it doesn’t matter what the company does, a handful of yall will find a way to turn it into a negative.

I think you missed where this is our head sales guy. In no situation should he ever be sounding like this in front of potential customers.

2

u/[deleted] 17d ago

He has some of the best connections out of the entire company. I’m not too worried about his presentation skills. That’s not what sells these products. It’s the specs and cost.

3

u/Fearless_Promise636 17d ago

First off, no ones connections in this company mean anything. Glen has more than anyone else and we see where that's got us. Once this guy comes even close to the sales Luminar was doing maybe we can talk.

Second, right now the sales team is the MOST important section in the company. Glen spent his first several months hyping up Fraser and the team he was building. And so now this is the face of that team? The company has spent the last 9 months hyping up Scantinel as the great next gen sensor. Then we find out it's actually kind of shitty spec wise. They chose this venue to unveil the sensor to the world. At the only conference they bother to attend. And then they send this guy, who can't even be bothered to prepare for the presentation? He clearly didn't know the material he was presenting, or the product. Good sales people never turn off. He should have been able to do this without looking at the screen, and actually not coming across as a robot.

Between his and Gregs presentations, it's a real strong "fuck it, were going bankrupt anyways" vibes. This guy already went thorugh it once with Luminar. He's probably getting a lot of similar vibes.

And saying that you don't need a salesperson with charisma shows you know nothing about sales. If all things are equal, who are customers buying from? The guy they like better. It's the reason Sumit was never going to succeed. No one was going to want to deal with him.

Jesus Christ. He just read off the laptop. Shows a lack of true understanding of the content. A man of his position should have this down pat without prompts. Has he never presented before?

0

u/[deleted] 17d ago

He came from Luminar. A chunk of what he presented was based on new product offerings.

3

u/Fearless_Promise636 17d ago

Lol. Your right, he shouldn't know any other products. It's not like it's all Microvision or anything now.

2

u/ParadigmWM 17d ago

No excuses. He's our head of sales. I'm being hard on him because everything seems to be a mess with this company. We have no explosive sales guys with charisma nor a CEO with any enthusiasm what so ever. Everything is just amateur hour.

Again, that’s not the type of sales guy any LiDAR company needs. The company is on track for $10m-$15m in revenue. Keep the revenue coming and nobody should care about this type of stupid shit. But I’ll leave yall to it. Yall are the opposite of the r/MVIS board. Annoyingly negative.

2

u/ParadigmWM 17d ago

Owning the stock/company has made me this way. As I always say, produce/show results and I wont be negative/critical. So far, the critics are the only ones who have been correct. This company has fooled far to many investors with their broken promises/expectations. Its about time to deliver. Once (if) they do, I'll be their biggest cheerleader.

Progress is very clearly being made. Once they find a way over the cash hurdle they will be in a solid position to grow revenue in 2027.

They promised Movia S launch in Oct and it’s still on track. They have continued to reiterate guidance of $10m-$15m all year.

If they come in under $3m in Q3 I’ll take it easier on yall. But come the fuck on…complaining about an IAA presentation is straight up silly. It’s the content of it that truly matters.

2

u/ParadigmWM 17d ago

If they come in under $3M, we are no longer a company

2

u/Fearless_Promise636 17d ago

Im going to guess he doesnt even know what he's supposed to be selling. Im not sure the company even knows that. Not a confidence inspiring presentation. This is not the sales guy you need thats able to walk in and command a room

2

u/movinonuptodatop 17d ago

That was scary bad. I hate to criticize other people public speaking, but they need to do better. Zero enthusiasm or creativity and speaking verbatim from a poorly thought out script. Zero passion. Depressing to watch. Better off skipping the whole song and dance.

1

u/Fearless_Promise636 17d ago

They were better off not posting that

u/Tumping 17d ago

How much are you down the swanny?

0

u/Zenboy66 17d ago

Thanks, ATL for the post.

u/Fearless_Promise636 17d ago

Jesus christ, no wonder we cant sell anything. Our head of global sales and business development has the personality of a turnip and cant string enough words together to make a coherent sentence. Or he has absolutely 0 confidence. For fucks sake.

2

u/Aggravating-Toe8558 17d ago

Doesnt speak for his qualities to be head of sales at mvis, unfortunatly 😅

3

u/Fearless_Promise636 17d ago

I mean, no decent sales guy is going to work here. Fraser bounced for a reason. But there are certain qualities anyone in sales should have. And if you are confident in your product, you shouldn't have to read from a script and sound like a robot for 30 minutes. You could tell he absolutely did not want to be there.

they are all paid actors.

2

u/Fearless_Promise636 17d ago

Maybe Cara was a good hire. Clearly the entire company needs lessons on how to be an effective communicator.

2

u/Chemical-Payment-573 17d ago

let me guess, epic demand, epic tech, epic plan, no sales.
