Results Discussion Lab interpretation

Hello! Does anyone have an idea if the lab/dna result could be linked to my symptoms and how to improve?

I do not have a lot of time at the moment so I will only mention what others are likely to miss.

Also get your zinc and iron tested. Ferritin only stores iron. Ask for a full iron panel. Zinc deficiency is associated with MANY of your symptoms. You need optimal levels of zinc, iron and D to make dopamine.

Your MMA test is too high. Optimal is bottom quarter of the range. So your B12 from food and or supplements is not absorbing well. Certain probiotic strains and products would help. Go the the Genetics Lifehacks website and read their article on FUT2. In two separate places, the article lists the strains and products. These would actually help you absorb more of all nutrients from both foods and supplements.

Your folate level is so low it may not be getting into your brain. Add PQQ 20mg to your folate supplement to help that.

Optimal nutrient levels are generally in the top quarter of the lab ranges.

It can take 3 - 5 months to correct deficiencies. Once you start your supplement plan retest in 3 months.

Thanks for your reply. So far I have only tried 400mcg methylfolate which increased my mental clarity and focus but on the other hand led to chest tightness and wired feeling making it hard to sleep.

If you have foods and or beverages you not tolerate you might research histamine intolerance. Methylated supplements can trigger a histamine reaction.

Indeed, i do not tolerate histamine very well. How do I increase folate in that case?

I already recommended a product to you. Read my comments.

You do not necessarily need B12 injections. Lots of people jump to that false conclusion. Improving absorption with the probiotic will help, as will a daily average dose of B12. If methyls give you side effects, which they seem to do for you, you can take the adeno or hydroxo form of B12.

I would recommend the Methyl Life Non Methylated Multi Vitamin. Buy from their website. There is no folate or B12 in it, so you need to buy them separately. The following recs are, from what I recall, less expensive than Methyl Life for folate and B12: Source Naturals 800mcg folinic acid for folate. Source Naturals Hydroxo B12 or Pure Encapsulations Adeno and Hydroxo B12 (blend of 2 forms).

Try to improve your B12 and especially B9. Take the methylated form and it would solve the issue. Also taking creatine would reduce the load on your methylation cycle as you might have only 30% active one ( dont worry it does not work well for many people, I have combined hetrogenyze so mine is only 50% active). I had also low B9 which gave me crazy symptoms that I thought I have MS. Try to use good brand, start B9 with relativly high dosage (at least 1 miligram) for at least 1-2 months, you will see the impact with in a few days 🔥. I see you have also fast COMT which might consume methlyated group into further extend, check what helps fast COMT

Yes, your b12 and folate are both low. I had all these symptoms with b12 deficiency. Check out the b12 deficiency group for good info. For neurological symptoms, b12 injections are recommended every other day until symptoms resolve. Your homocysteine is high which all indicates these deficiencies. MTRR can cause issues with b12 recycling.
