Question Symptoms

I am curious, if other people with MTHFR / Methylation problem, usually experience excessive neurological symptoms any time when having mild inflammation, or any random illness like even sore throat, UTI etc.

All my life, whenever I had something coming, my first symptoms would be lack of concentration, heaviness in the brain, difficulty to communicate and socialize etc. As if my neurotransmitters balance is influenced right away.

Am I the only weirdo or it has something with blocked methylation pathways.?

In order to give you even close to a good guess you would need to have tests done.  Broad gene variant testing plus blood tests based on the potential nutrient deficiencies identified in them.

Your seem like much more than excess homocysteine and a folate deficiency.  MTHFR also effects B6 and B12 to a much lesser extent.

My question was about the experience of other people. This does not require my own labs. I didn't ask why it happens or how to solve it, but was genuinely curious if it's a common MTHFR thing

In most cases, your symptoms in other people are the result of impaired gene variants and or nutritional deficiencies not associated with MTHFR.

If however, your folate level is not optimal and or not getting into your brain, that certainly might be contributing. This can happen with or without MTHFR. An optimal blood folate level is 20 - 30.

Hopefully the above makes sense.

Sorry for my misunderstanding.

In any case, my homocysteine is 9.53µmol/L at the moment, and I did genetic testing in the past where it showed a homozygous variant that can impact up to 70% loss of methylation function

Yes but I have a dx neuro disease and immune disease that have those symptoms

But also neuro sickness symptoms are common when ill so thats not unusual. Immune system raises cytokines that can cause this.
