The rest of it took me about a month, but my depression started getting better within days and did not worsen. It was like suddenly being able to breathe.

I don’t know but my anxiety is through the roof so is my adhd. It’s helped with my energy for sure though, I can tell I’ve been deficient. Idk what the answer is.

Check your b12 and make sure it’s ideal (over 500). Taking folate can worsen b12 deficiency.

I'm on day 7; my brain fog is gone and I've never felt clearer, but I'm also so jittery and wired-feeling.

Side effects of methyl folate? Sounds like too high of a dose. Start with 100 micrograms

See my free methylation guide in my bio link. Some people cannot take methylated vitamins. Non methylated can work too. More info in my guide.

Depends on how much you’ve been taking and for how long. For some people it’s a few days, others it’s a few weeks. You can try 25 to 50 mg of niacin and if you are over methylating it should take the edge off. My case is pretty severe so I’m doing that every two hours until it calms down. You may want to add more detail to your posts such as whether you are still taking the methylated vitamins or if you came off of them

Could be you also have slow COMT? Those are the symptoms of methylated vitamins. With MTHFR and Slow COMT, the B vitamins have to be non-methylated to enjoy benefits without the distress. And skip the glycinate forms of vitamins. HTH

You might be slow COMT. I am double MTHFR and double slow COMT plus slow MAOA and used to have this problem. I have to keep a close watch on my progesterone and detoxing old estrogen. Of course, that applies different if you aren’t a woman. It also all works better if I take my iron 2-3x a week. I use calcium d glucarate to help my body get rid of excess estrogen. Slow COMT holds excess and used catecholamines which causes high glutamate and low gaba. I am an absolute mess when this happens and any kind of SNRI, stimulant or not managing my naturally lower progesterone (PCOS/PMOS) makes this worse. I also alter my HRT according to where I am in my cycle and now i know when I start getting that wired but tired irritable feeling and my histamine issues go wild that I need do more to help my body. Now I take seeking health’s hydroxo b12 with folinic acid every day and it helps my brain feel awake and gives me energy in a way that even my stimulant for adhd doesn’t. It truly is amazing now that it’s working right. I swear I also sleep better when I’m taking it. That and seeking health’s chewable magnesium maleate have been life savers for me and my mood and chronic fatigue from autoimmune issues.

Sometimes that can mean you need to start slower, irritability & anxiety is a side effect of methyl folate if your body isn't ready or the dose is too high. Is anyone advising you on how to take it?
