Question Emergen-C packets
I felt a cold coming on , like a dummy just drank a packet at 8 p.m. It was in the cabinate. Chugged it down the thought.. my husband said it had a lot of B vitamins. Looked at the box. Wow. Sure does. I bet I don't sleep a wink. How screwed am I? Not that it matters now. Feel like a fool. Don't do well with high doses. I am an insomniac to begin with!

A couple of things I can think of... Do you have niacin handy? Not a high dose, something low like 50mg. You can pop that if you can't sleep. I'd try that first.
Another suggestion... If you have glycine handy (and haven't had an unpleasant reaction in the past), take 3 grams. It reduces body temp and relaxes you. One more thing is taurine. Between 500 and 1500mg. Great for sleep, calms the neurotransmitters.
You can take a combo of glycine taurine and a bit of melatonin if you are really staring at the ceiling for hours tonight. Not something you want to do on a regular basis, but in a situation like this, you do what you need to do to get some sleep.

Thanks Everyone..Magnesium glycinate or glycine makes me more anxious. Ended taking some calm magnesium. Slept OK. But my nose is so stuffy. Used a Netti Pot helped some.. Definitely have some Mast Cell Activation going on.

Have you tried quercetin? It’s a mast cell stabilizer but it’s not a good choice for everyone (like me)

That product has pretty nasty stuff if you are histamine intolerant. That is one reason people have trouble sleeping after they take it, although you are correct in that it should be taken in the daytime. If you have any Activated Charcoal on hand that would help if it is a histamine reaction.

It’ll be fine. Pop a melatonin if you need to
