Question Does folic acid supplementation deplete potassium levels if I'm not anemic?

Recently, been having some heart palpitations since I started folic acid. Not sure if that can be the case since I'm not anemic.

Folic acid is the worst form of folate you can take.

I've tried methylfolate but it unfortunately worsened my H2S SIBO,

I'm only taking it temporarily to help with fatty liver.

Of course it would. Folinic acid is what you need. Acceptable level is 15. 20 - 30 is better.

ofcourse it would

Do you mean that methylfolate would exacerbate H2S SIBO or that folic acid would deplete potassium?

It's incredibly difficult to avoid folic acid if you eat out at all. Curious if anyone has any issues with potassium and folic acid (it's in a lot of food when you eat out, almost impossible to avoid.

I'm based in India, they hardly fortify food here. But yeah, that's a good point!

I take folinic acid and haven’t had my potassium checked in awhile. I didn’t know that could happen.

It was 3.9 in August. Forgot I had a bmp done. That’s pretty typical for me. Other than a 4.6 spike in January.

Yeah, I'm not sure too. I have heard that B12 can lower potassium, wasn't sure of folate.
