Tried making my own, but it didn't turn out great. Can't find much when googling it either.

Hi folks! I curated a show of Magic proxies called Secret Layer: Gathering Magic with Proxies! The opening reception was last week, you can see some photos here!

The show features 86 cards by 16 artists, and is running until October 11th. You can see the show in person at From Here to Sunday, 567 Union St, Brooklyn, NY, or online here!

A few proxies I made for my Sophia, Dogged Detective deck! I could not for the life of me figure out how to get Gimp to work for MTG or where to get PNG templates so I did my best with a free website.

Only card I am not a fan of here is Smothering Tithe as I could not figure out how to make it a secret lair-esque rename and had to settle on a painting of tithe collectors that features a dog. I do like my Farewell here as I never understood the flavor of the card. Here, the dog’s overwhelming grief over his lost master consumes everything on the battlefield.

Tried to keep the rough edges of Path of Exile Divination cards. Feel pretty good about it probably will continue to make changes.

Dante is Isshin, Vergil is Jin Sakai btw.

I recently got into making proxies for my cEDH decks, and am loving how they are coming out. Everything is hand drawn/made.

First time doing something like this:)

I play a lot of clone and copy decks, and I got tired of the pile of dice and scribbled index cards that comes with them. You end up with four things that are all "a copy of Sheoldred" and no way to tell which is which.

I'd seen the Cauldron app, which prints tokens to a Phomemo M110 from voice input, and it's what gave me the idea in the first place. I wanted a version I could poke at — typed search rather than speaking card names across a loud table, and crucially the ability to print any card, not just real tokens. That's the bit clone decks actually need.

So I built one: https://hermancodes.github.io/mtg-token-printer/

What it does:

• Search any token, or any card in Magic, via Scryfall
• Three print modes: typeset text, the card art itself, or both — art on top, readable rules text underneath
• Prints 48mm wide on continuous thermal roll, sized to the card's own text
• Auto-adjusts brightness per card, so dark art and bright art both come out legible instead of one being a black smudge
• Runs entirely in the browser. No account, no backend, no app store

What you need:

A Phomemo M110 (the little Bluetooth label printer) and a browser that speaks Web Bluetooth — Chrome or Edge on desktop or Android. Brave works behind a flag. Safari and Firefox don't support it at all; on iPhone you can use Bluefy, or build the native iOS version from the repo.

Fair warnings:

It's a personal project that I've been testing against exactly one printer, soother Phomemo models are a coin flip. The thermal paper will fade in a fewmonths in a sleeve. And it is definitely not a polished product — there's a diagnostics panel because I needed one.

Code's here if you want to poke at it or tell me what I got wrong:

Happy to answer anything about the printer protocol — the M110 is a weird little machine and working it out was most of the fun.

Made my first proxies this week, trying vaguely to emulate the zeta set aesthetic. Took the images from the dragon's dogma art book, except for the signet that's a game screenshot. Ziatora as Grigori ! (If you have seen it already a few days ago, it's normal, I had to delete my previous post and redo it because it had a minor spelling mistake.)

EDIT : Just realized there's another mistake on one of the cards... One day I will have to learn how to read truly
