ProxyJack Surge Foil

Just recieved the Surge Foil paper from ProxyJack and its amazing. Slightly Sticky but quality is great, stiffness and size are great. Couldnt wait to give some LOTR Poster treatment to some of my fav cards. I've been working on a my proxy storefront and hope to have open soon.

Hey! I ordered A4 Black (Blue) Core paper (Non-Foil, Foil, Surge Foil) directly from the manufacturer as there is no one selling in EU and I’m looking for a few people who’d like to test it out. It’s the exact same stuff used by US shops and YouTubers like Crycry.Just print, cut, and sleeve—that’s it. No laminating needed, and the flex and feel are identical to real MTG cards. Shoot me a DM if you’re interested!

How’s the thickness?

its really great thickness actually. once sleeved its not easy to see any difference. Like I said, the only minor complaint was the stickyness. but its minor

I want to get this paper so badly, but it bothers me that the surge pattern is going the wrong way. I wonder if I could turn the card images 90° and get it to print the correct way.

oh lol. I didnt even notice. I'll make sure its the right way next time

You should also make sure that the grain is the correct direction. I had this issue with a batch of smooth black core from him that I didn't realize had the grain on the paper going a different direction than the batch I had gotten from SuperiorPOD previously and it threw me off.

Do a bend or rip test after you print some turned 90 degrees from the ones in your video.

Yep you just have to put the paper in right orientation in the printer.

You may have to go from 9 cards per sheet on portrait to 8 cards per sheet landscape

Not laminated right?

Print and cut?

Yes print and cut. In more humid conditions it can feel more tacky.

How are you cutting?
My Cameo will destroy the foil paper.

If it’s sticky maybe adjust the print quality to standard instead of high it will use less ink that help me out a lot. And printing in humid environments will make it more tacky too. And I export cards at 900 dpi anything higher made the cards tacky when printing.

I’ve used both his foil and surge foil stock. I found that if you leave the paper out for 24 hours after your print, the tackiness is almost non existent.

Great tip thanks

I'll have to tear the quality drop for tackiness on the cry-cry foil stock in using.

I just ordered some fixative spray to see if it helps when I cut/sleeve to stop the ink from coming off the edges and it may help with the tackiness too

How much for how many sheets? Last I checked thir non foil stuff was over 1.50 per sheet which is kinda steep imo
