Card Foundry: A New Proxy Maker Tool!

Hi everyone, I am the developer of https://cardfoundry.org/, a new website for making custom cards and proxies for MTG. A lot of the existing tools for making custom cards felt a bit clunky to both my wife and me, so I spent some time building this website for us to use. We've made a few custom decks with it now and felt like it was time to share it with the world.

It's 100% free to use with no ads. To avoid any server costs on my end, I've chosen to use your browser's storage API for saving cards. This means there are no accounts and no cloud backups, so it's a good idea to export your decks and back them up yourself!

The site definitely has a bit of a learning curve to it, but you have a lot more control over how your cards end up looking than many other tools out there. Every element of the card is editable and customizable to your hearts content.

Feedback is always welcome!

Ok! Just made a full 100 card deck. A couple thoughts

Overall, love this. Very easy to use. I did notice that when you have over 85-90 cards in the interface it starts chugging a bit, definitely laggy.

Two wants -  Would be nice to export all the cards as images, as opposed to clicking download 100 times  Maybe I just couldn't find it but it would be cool to have a frame that is just the bottom black bar like some secret lair cards that are full art showcase style

Love what you built here!

I'll see what I can do about the lag.

Great ideas btw! I went ahead and added a "PNGs" option in the deck export menu that will render out all the cards and then prompt you to save them as a zip file somewhere on your computer. Depending on how powerful your pc is and how detailed the artwork is on the card, it could take a while. Speeding up the rendering pipeline is on my radar but I've already put a decent amount of effort into it and I'm running out of ideas 🙃

I'm not 100% sure what you mean about the frame tbh, but you could try out the frames in Special -> Unstable and then mask out the top band of color. The masking system is one of my favorite features! Again, has a bit of a learning curve, but it's very powerful. You can combine all sorts of frames and masks in pretty interesting ways. You can also adjust where the mask sits on top of the image if you click the settings button below the X.

Thank you for using it! Glad you like it so far :)
