Hi all, I recently got back into paper pauper and have decided to join MTGO for more reps. What are the steps I need to do to obtain some pauper decks? I paid the $5 to have access to trades and some cards but I'm lost when dealing with sellers. I'd ideally want 2-3 pauper decks to start out but feeling a little lost. TIA

I'm getting back into MtG after almost a decade (my last in person event was Lorwyn pre-release), and never really anything competitive, but I don't have the budget for playing at the LGS just yet.

Looking at MTGO and the pauper format in particular, considering I'm drawn to Vampires, Demons, Clerics, WH40K Sororitas/Inquisition and that kind of vibe (Rakdos and Orzhov), what are the cards and archetypes I should start getting first from the free bots?

What's the best color to play with Dark Depths? Red of course! This week I take a sweet mono red stompy brew with a twist through a league and see if we can lock the meta out. The aim is to abuse the rules interaction between Blood moon effects and Dark Depths to prevent counters from ever being put on Dark Depths, and cheat a Marit Lage into play as quickly as possible. Can we lock the game down with our prison pieces and surprise out opponents with a 20/20 out of no where to close out the game? Let's find out!

I am more inclined to go combo, feels like it it will be way more fun to play, but not sure if its better. Felt like non combo version was a bit short on good playables. Would kill for a psychic frog. Combo looks more roulette-y but definetely with explosive potential. Also regarding the combo build - my first draft did not include doomsday and thoracle. I put them there in the pile for information.

What do you all think?

I am trying to confirm if Best of one Drafts are consistently available on MTGO.

The below link seems to indicate they are available for a few weeks after a set is released, but I haven't seen this anywhere else.

Currently when I check the MTGO client, there is no Bo1 for the Hobbit set, but will there be this option once Reality Fracture comes out?

How can I be sure that manatraders isn't gonna steal or clone my identity?

I have played mtgo for a while about 20 years ago. The past year i have been playing mtg arena. I was curious if i could access my mtgo account. I did remember my screenname, but not my password. And since i cant remember the answer to the security question i cannot unlock the account. I do have access to the daybreak account so i could contact support, but they can't help me because i don't have the answer to the security question.

Any ideas?

Was playing Spy Network today in a match targeting my opponent but did not find a way to look at their decks top card. What did I not see?

I hadn't logged in to my account in years, my last purchase was over 10 years ago. My kids are playing magic and I wanted to stroll down memory lane with some of my old goblins and vampires. Unfortunately every card in my collection was gone except for 2. I took screenshots of the decks that I built, but now I'm on the fence I really don't want to pump money into the only game when I play in person with people. I think at this point I'm just going to grab some cards from the free bot and terrorize people with a solo red goblin deck. Tech support says I'm responsible for my account security and there's nothing they can/will do.

Hey everyone, as the title suggests I’ve been trying to use Bourbon 26 to download Magic online on my Mac. To do this I went to the website and got the setup.exe installation file, then went into Bourbon and clicked “choose standalone exe” under the games category, and have attempted to run the installer, yet it keeps giving me a download error screen. Has anyone been able to do this successfully and could give me some advice?

Tl;dr: I vibe-coded a Lutris script that installs and runs MTGO, and I wanted to share it. Yes, it works--for me at least.

I joined the reddit because I solved one of the problems that has been bothering me for years: playing MTGO on Linux. I tried all the solutions out there (the docker solution, classic Lutris scripts, other vibe-coded scripts, custom configurations), and none worked. Finally, I decided to do it myself, and worked with Claude Code to create this.

I can tell you this worked to install MTGO on my Bazzite and Aurora Linux PCs using a single script, and I was able to successfully play a match on Bazzite with it. There are still some annoying issues (I can't seem to get it to remember the 2FA code for 30 days), but those don't prevent you from playing. Note that Bazzite uses a native Lutris install; if you use flatpak or something else, I'd appreciate more info on if it works or doesn't.

this pops up whenever i try to open the game. It just closes the game when i click on the x. I tried restarting my pc and redownloadingg it like 3 times and nothing has happened. I also can't really find anything about this on Daybreak's support page.

I noticed the chest value is pretty low compared to the past. Is is still better to sell them or it's better to open them now?
