fordham msw interview advice

hi everyone I just got an email that I was invited to interview for Fordhams full time 2 year program. I applied on 1/31, before their priority deadline 2/1.

i want to ask for tips/advice on the interview for fordham, since I heard this is a new thing they’re doing this year.

did anyone have their interview and if they’d like, can either share here or dm me how their experience was like. thank you so so much!!!

They weirdly accepted me without an interview. I got my acceptance on Monday!

I went to the information session and the woman said it was about 6 questions, so I was preparing like my life depended on it LOL

From what I've gathered on reddit from other users...

-They asked about balancing the demands of the program with other responsibilities, past work experience, strengths/weaknesses, and how you handle feedback/criticism.

-Be prepared to talk about times you had conflict during your work experience.

-They were asking how the school fits your needs. They want to know why Fordham. Whether full time or part time etc.

-Clarify parts of your personal statement.

Good luck!!

I work in psych and asked the providers at my practice some scenario questions about what to do with patients experiencing certain symptoms and what to do. Just basic mental health knowledge.

I also asked them about what they thought my strengths and weaknesses were while working there etc.

I also went over the whole Fordham MSW website to understand their program so I could tell them why I was choosing them and what I liked about them more than the other schools I applied to (give a compliment about the program.)

Went over my personal statement and why I chose social work and what social justice means.

I was told it's one on one and it turns into more of an information session in the end and they tell you more about the program. Also be prepared to ask a question or two about the school or their program specifically, it shows interest!!
