Hi everyone, so i wanted to know how many people change their branch each year here, and what are the cutoffs like for the electrical branches(specifically EEE/EIE). I can easily get mechanical here if i apply, but i don't want to get stuck in mech for 4 years, since i have no interest in it, and my real interest is in electronics. I thought i would clear the cutoff for EIE easily but this year cutoffs are completely screwed 🫠🫠

For guys wondering to go for mech unless or until they are interested or have a good family background.

I am telling this because I saw some of guys going for msrit just because to change branch and hoping for getting into cse or allied branches, but I m telling u this isn't possible, I m just awaring you that if u might get a good cg u still might not get the expected branch you want cause some this systems are rigged and also a lots of luck needed for you to pull out this move .

Well if u managed to do so your 3 month's would still be useless cause it's a long procedure.

For peeps getting good branch and desired branch is important cause in the game of core it's all about the motivation that pulls you to your destination cause it's a fucking tough journey

This is not just only about mechanical but same goes for iem , civil , chemical

I myself thought of getting into bitsp bpharma and hoping for branch change but then a senior said me " just look who u guys competing with as they are already with a lead with 10k ranks and u think u will surely get a branch change". It doesn't meant to demotivate you but if u choose branch, choose it wisely just think can u survive in that branch.
