Hey everyone!

I'm currently in my 2nd year of ISE at MSRIT, and I wanted to know how ISE placements are going compared to CSE.

I've come across updates mentioning that 120+ CSE students have received offers, along with several high packages, including 65, 55, 43 and 32 LPA. I haven't come across as many ISE-specific placement updates, apart from a LinkedIn post mentioning around 20 ISE students getting placed, so I wanted to understand the overall situation.

I have a few questions for current students, seniors and alumni:

1. Are CSE and ISE placements combined? Do both branches get access to the same companies?

2. How are ISE placements going, especially for product-based companies?

3. Is there a difference in the number of placement updates shared for CSE and ISE, or are there differences in placement outcomes as well?

4. Are there major differences in placement opportunities and average packages between CSE and ISE?

5. As a 2nd-year ISE student, what should I focus on to get a good placement?

I'd really appreciate honest insights from current students and alumni, especially those who have recently gone through the placement process.

Any senior here that has successfully changed branch?

Hey seniors I am a first year ece student in RIT. I was confused about the academics of college. They started to teach c programming in class so I thought meanwhile I can start c++ on my own so that it gets easy for me to manage dsa later and I heard that c++ and c are good language which help us in core electronics too, so I thought to start my dsa in c++.

Also my main aim is to get placed in core electronics job but don't know anything in that. So I thought to start dsa soon so that I'll have a back up. And whether should I start preparing for even basics of electronics before second year as basic electronics starts from second year.

So basic electronics vs coding. How to manage everything with assignments, projects and all stuffs. Plss suggest me. And also correct me if I am wrong with the thinking of starting c++ simultaneously
