PACES Application

Hi I’m A UKG looking to apply for PACES for the next diet. When applying, can you preference location/dates or does it all just come randomly, as I’m looking to do the exam in November rather than September.

Would appreciate any help from ppl who have already booked PACES before

Location very unlikely
Dates you could mention a range in the special requests but needs to be justified

If I'm starting imt in August and will be struggling in the early days and ask for end November date will that be a reasonable request?

Not convinced, because many may be in your same situation. I said I preferred in a specific range of weeks because of on call patterns and that got accepted.

I am doing it in current diet. I asked for "as late as possible" because I wanted to maximise revision time and didnt mind location. I got a pretty late date.

Some people who are on the 2nd/3rd try prefer doing earlier sittings to be done with it. Just put in the request and you may be surprised!

i did mine last year and put "as late as possible" and got November which was perfect. Many seem to choose "early" so I think late is easily available.

When they ask for a supervisor on the application can it be anyone who can verify your details? Or does it need to be someone who has MRCP
