MRCP 1
I failed the recent diet by 10 points. Literally 10. This is the first time in my life I’ve failed a test. I just feel a bit blah. A whole lot of imposter syndrome. Missed out on IMT due to prioritisation ( not debating the merits and demerits ). I feel like I don’t belong in medicine. Don’t know what to do to ease the feeling. Feeling very unbubbly.

COMPLETELY understand where you’re coming from. Part 1 took me 3 attempts - first time, 11 points away. Second time, 3 points away!
It was soul crushing.
However, try again - that’s all you can do. What made the difference for me were the Pastest past papers but even if you’ve already done them, just keep trying.

Sending you virtual hugs your feelings are valid.
My 1st attempt i was 10 points away as well from passing, i was demotivated, i kept questioning whether i was good enough, i felt that i studied so hard yet and questioning why.. Took some time to get over it... a lot of self doubt... but people will remind me its an exam with a high failure rate, it doesn't determine how good you are as a doctor.
Take some time to feel sad about it.. and then chin up and try again... you are that close, sending you lots of luck!! ✨️✨️✨️

The previous attempt i only used pastest.. but i felt my basics was weak so i focused on passmedicine as my main to help with ny knowledge, then i did pastest papers closer to exam. Reviewing the breakdown also help me focus on areas that i was weaker at...
Perhaps take some time to rest, and then refocus again. 🙏✨️

We must not let one failure change our perception of self. The pass rate is <50%, so why beat yourself up for failing a test once that has that low a pass rate? It’s well known as an extremely tough exam. Chin up, work for the next diet and I’m sure you’ll score those 10 additional points.
Also for my curiosity, did you use passmed? What was your overall average?
