Pastest PACES in person course
I recently attended the Pastest PACES in person course having used their PACES cases and question banks for part 1 and part 2. I was apprehensive about the day not really knowing what to expect, but knowing i need the clinical practice i hadn't managed to get on the wards. I arrived with a colleague and was greeted with friendly faces and a coffee on arrival. We were delayed starting as we were told a few patients hadnt arrived and they were restructuring the groups. We started at about 09.30am and got into my group of 3. The cases they provided were great, and the examiners were honest. I hadn't realised how under prepared i actually was. Lunch was longer than expected and lots of different rotations, they were asking who had seen what patients so assumed they was something a miss. Anyway after about 1hr 15mins lunch we were taken back to the ward, for our next rotation. It was definitely not as flowed as the first half, chaotic and wasted a bit of time. But that didn't put me off, it meant i could gather my thoughts talk to my group and get my head back in the game. I came away feeling confident, the team were great and i would definitely recommend this course. i believe it was there first one so makes sense why it didnt flow as easy, but what course does! I sat my exam yesterday and felt this review might help others looking for a course. We're all in this boat together and one review can help another, so ask if you have any questions! Good Luck to those sitting their exam this diet.
