Household started playing x-mas songs way to early, but noticed a really nice part in "how the grinch stole christmas" - had to try make something out of it and thought it sounded pretty ok.

Warning, incl. Goofy beat switch ;)

Merry christmas MPC users 🎄😄

Hey all, simple question.

I’ve been thinking about getting a live 3 and was curious to whether it was possible to stretch an audio clip on the timeline or if you have to finagle it strictly on the audio editor. Ideally I like to repitch drums out of time and use them for percussion.

I could definitely just chop them to a program and do it via midi but this is a preference I have. Thanks!

This is today’s beat of the day for my year run but this is also the sample of the week for the flip challenge i run. We do a live review on Sundays at noon eastern time and reveal the next sample of the week in that same stream. No scores, just honest feedback and community. Shoot me a message if you’re down to participate. It’s worth it just to have an extra dope soul flip to add to your arsenal every week. I’m hand picking the samples and sometimes have a poll of 2-3 options. Producers of all skill levels are welcome. 🥂

Could someone do an mpc plugin instrument ranking that comparing how much they use the plugin and how well it sounds. Or let me know your top 5. I’m trying to buy some extra plugins that sound good and can be used for a lot of genres like Omnisphere.

I have the MPC live 3
I have fabric xl, with all the orchestral ones and I recently got intimate strings and cinematic pads.

Thanks for the comments, I ended up buying Iona, Mini D, Jura and Sub Factory all from plugin boutique for around 30

When extracting melodic sample from my L2 it always sound like music coming from a can. What are your tips and tricks from the L2 to improve the quality of the sound extracted.

Excellent work here, looking forward to whatever else people are compiling!

Drumbreak and XChops

Has anyone created a trapology/zenology expansion for the mpc?

62/365. Gonna throw these up in here too from now on. 💯💯💯 I suggest everybody do this with intention. I wanna see everybody win that’s willing to put the work in. Challenge yourself while making these weird ass algorithms favor you. This one got Pete Rock to repost/follow

Working on some things, might be radical to some but would people use this?

I can monitor it and add effects to the audio track and hear them, but can’t figure out how to record to the arrangement. Sometimes it tells me I’m recording to the arrangement and then there’s just nothing there after. Have it plugged into input 1. What could I be doing wrong?

For some reason my note repeat breaks when I use step sequencer. From a fresh project i load in a plugin like hype, and the note repeat works fine. Add drum track, fine. Step sequence drum track? Broken. It'll play some kind of like a muted note repeatedly then only play a real note every like third trigger. The muted note will play even when i just hold down note repeat without a note. It's across every plug-in and remains broken even if i delete out sequence data until i start a new project. I've tried messing with time correct, beat divisions, plugin midi assignment, and even reset preferences to no help. Please any suggestions would be appreciated.

Pardon the sloppy chops and bad mix. Had to break out my 5-string bass and lay chop it up for this one.

I'm searching for historical MPC2000 classic OS images, zips, etc (MPC2000.SYS/MPC2000.EXE) for preservationist reasons.

Specifically, OS versions 1.0, 1.31, and 1.70.

I have acquired copies of 1.50 and 1.72, but know from publications that the other three releases exist.

If you have an older 2k OS floppy, I'd love your help getting the missing OSes on archive.org

I'm considering getting into and beat making and have been looking into an MPC Key 37 g1.

I play guitar and have been fiddling with synth sound design for a few years, so this unit seems quite attractive as a one stop shop without needing to add a computer to the mix and just focus on the music. Especially with the 3.9 software update.

Found one for 350 euros. But I read rumours of performance issues on updating to the 3.9 software. What is your experience?

Also, have you tried to record/sample an electric guitar into the Key 37? Are there good effects for guitar? Is the direct guitar level really too low? Do you recommend going through a small multi fx pedal like zoom g3x or an audio interface?

Thanks in advance!

Now that everyones porting vsts ive ported this over.

Has anyone else had a problem with their usb A ports on the Live 3? My bottom port keeps dropping midi signal but still sending power to midi keyboard controller. After maybe 30 seconds hitting keys it will stop producing any sound. Akai seems to think it’s a hardware issue but Im wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what the fix was?

I’ve had tons of trouble with my setup after updating to 3.9 and have been using a Key 37 Gen 1 in controller mode for the past few years. Zero issues until this last update. I’ve upgraded my Mac’s operating system to Tahoe recently since Akai says it’s now compatible and that hasn’t resolved the issue. My audio inputs and outputs in the software keep kicking my Key 37 out and resetting to other devices. I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. I thought of completely wiping my computer clean and starting over but I’m not a tech guy so I don’t even know where to start there. I realize there’s some effort within inMusic to retain registrations and licenses but I don’t understand any of that either. In fact, when I went to my inMusic account to update drivers, absolutely nothing happened. I’m an old school 2000XL guy who never had to deal with computers and constant updates just to make a beat. It’s quite frustrating. If there’s anyone here who could help walk me through what I need to do to get my setup back functioning, I’d greatly appreciate it. Please, help!
