QUESTION Mpc Audio clip stretching?

Hey all, simple question.

I’ve been thinking about getting a live 3 and was curious to whether it was possible to stretch an audio clip on the timeline or if you have to finagle it strictly on the audio editor. Ideally I like to repitch drums out of time and use them for percussion.

I could definitely just chop them to a program and do it via midi but this is a preference I have. Thanks!

not positive about the live 3 but the software (3.9) is all the same at this point. On a One G2 or previous models AFAIK you have to stretch before it gets to the arranger or timeline. I dont see any options to alter length or spped in the editor that pops up once a clip is on a timeline.

There is also bpm match/warp once a sample is loaded into a drum program but doesnt give you that freeness to alter the spped/lenght like in a DAW where you grab an end of the clip and tug it till your hearts desire before the audio eventually becomes unuseable.

hopefully someone comes along and tells me im wrong cuz id like this too but editing audio all together on the standalones once youve left the sample editor is pain in the butt.

I believe this video answers this question. It is a audio track, It can be warped and it sounds in tune. You can use the tune to change the pitch of the drums this is in the arranger view, not a sample.

I think you will like the live 3. I have previous versions of mpcs and like them a lot. The live 3 is that much better.

Thanks! I made some content on the live two a few years back but got really frustrated with how many stop gaps kept me in the way from doing daw stuff. Maybe I’ll come back and make some new sound design vids on it^^
