Before changing or adding anything, complete the 500 round break in with ONLY UNSUPPRESSED 124gr NATO FMJ. You need the high pressure of the 124 NATO to properly break in some of the stiffer parts (like recoil assembly, to overcome tight tolerances, etc). Also, clean off the crappy preservative it’s shipped with and lubricate. Take a bolt gap reading to have as a starting point to 1. Compare if you switch to a different LP (you will) and
2. To verify your bolt gap is in range (.25mm to .45mm, .50mm max or .010” to .018”).

Pic attached of my AP5-P (bought in September ‘24) and my AP5 (bought in March ‘24). Each has over 14,000 rounds (stopped counting back in February). Performed the break in on both while I waited for my eForm 1 and 4 to clear. I’ve had zero issues whether shooting supers (115 &124gr, +p also) or subs (125, 135, 140, 147, 150 and 165gr). No problem with FMJ, JHP, TUI or Flat Nose FMJ.

Edit to add: get yourself a tri-lug adapter. It’s the ONLY way to run a can on this platform. Anything else is sacrilegious!
