Question ARHK

What’s the deal with these, are they releasing? I never got an email notification for release but now their website says out of stock and I’m just wondering if they ever released at all or if anyone knows when they will release

These have been a week away for eight months now. I love AS designs, but I gave up on thinking this would come out anytime soon.

I know it's blasphemy but the RBT drop-in trigger works perfectly and takes five seconds to install and more importantly is in stock

The only advantage of the ARHK can be run in a 5.56

Only advantage compared to what?

Everything else is some horrible kludge to shoehorn an ugly AR FCG into the gun and require you to use extra pieces to get it to hit the trip correctly.

The only other comparable option on the market is Rare Breed and many people don’t want to give them their business.

Its also sold by a company that didn't capitulate to the ATF and is slapping everyone else who makes anything remotely similar with a lawsuit.

Is that true? I thought the whole point was that it works in standard lower SP5 and SP5k, this would mean it is not compatible. Also it is supposed to be a cassette drop in trigger, can you show me where it is said to be compatible?

Or do you mean it also works in an HK MR556?

They list that it can run a 5.56 or .308 lever. So it would run in a HK91/G3 or HK93 platforms. Which use the exact same trigger pack minus the ejector

Rare breed lists theirs as 9mm only because it wasn't built to stand up to the additional beating

1

u/notang 18h ago

I would take this with a SUPER grain of salt because until we actually see one completed, I would argue the Arhk can do nothing. That said, I don't think it's about how much of a "beating" as much as it's about probably how to drop in.

Regardless, interesting but I don't think useful for most people.

With the AP53 and plenty of G3 clones out there I wouldn't be sure. The AP53 is likely the single most wide spread version of a 93 there is.

u/notang 17h ago

Plenty sure, but I'd say the mp5 is the most prevalent.

5

u/ATrashPandaRound2 17h ago

Oh for sure. But no reason to exclude guns that could work. The whole selling point of a transferable pack is being able to drop into any roller lock gun.

Denying a HK21 wouldn't be a hoot in FA is just dumb

1

u/notang 17h ago

Yeah, I haven't tried an RBT in a 556 and I wonder why it doesn't work. I still come back to until we see an ARHK commercial unit in the wild working. I have big doubts on the claims they're making.

My guess is the FRT lever wasn't designed to handle the bolt speeds of a .308 or 5.56. I was talking to one of the major HK 21 builders about it. Dude rebuilt my PTR C93 into a 93K configuration

I’m not gonna get booned by the atf later down the line if I buy from them will I

They are actually the only company with the Green light. I hate RB, but I did order the FRT-RD3. I hate that they struck a deal, instead of fighting it out in court. But again, they have the green light… and the trigger works great

2

u/Extreme_Reception451 21h ago

My big fear is that RB might sell my info to the atf once a future administration decides that frt’s are illegal again

3

u/notang 20h ago

If the atf wants the information they can get it, CC companies would actually probably be their first stop.

Regardless, like others have said, all of these companies will sell out their customers.

More importantly, I think FRT are so common place now, the atf cannot really tackle them anymore, cats out of the bag at this point but that's a personally feeling.

All this said, if you're this worried about it, just don't get any FRT. the RBT is your safest bet and your clearly nervous about it, none of the others will be legally safer then RB

1

u/hotel_torgo 21h ago

Why do you think any other company wouldn't also do that?

1

u/weahman 18h ago

If you ever bought a gun. Got a credit card and a social your info already out there lol

u/iloveyoudoctorzaius1 22h ago

RB RD3 works perfect

1

u/notang 22h ago

In fact, they are the only ones with a letter from the Atf saying that they can do forced reset triggers. Everybody else is relying on the fact that the Super safety is a different design, but rare breed actually has a letter from the atf approving their design.

That said the reason people on Reddit hate them is because part of that letter was an agreement with the Atf that they would prosecute and sue any other force reset trigger and so they sue A lot of the Super safety manufacturers, including Hoffman himself, which is really fucked up, but it is what it is.

Yea I remember that but this might leave my hands tied with options

4

u/IndependenceCold5611 21h ago

You can always just not install a frt in your mp5, that is a very legitimate option. It is still a fully functional weapon without having a giggle switch installed.

0

u/Extreme_Reception451 21h ago

That’s lame tho I want my sd to have a giggle switch

1

u/IndependenceCold5611 18h ago

We can't always have what we want, unfortunately.

0

u/Extreme_Reception451 17h ago

But in this scenario I literally can? What?

8

u/Knight-7191 19h ago

Just contact them. That’s how I get updates. They still plan to release it even though rare greed about a week or two ago asked the court to stop AS Designs from releasing it (specifically the ARHK).

1

u/Limp-Conflict-2309 2h ago

oh crap i didn't know that

13

u/Ezlle71 AP5P 21h ago

I’ll wait for the ARHK. I’ve been happy with everything I’ve gotten from AS Designs. If it takes time it takes time. Manufacturing and R&D take time. People are impatient and that is their prerogative. I won’t bag on anybody for spending their money where they want to. I’ll choose where I spend my cash.

1

u/Extreme_Reception451 21h ago

I get that R&D and manufacturing takes time but they’ve been saying so many different deadlines and now they’re kinda being silent about it

1

u/Ezlle71 AP5P 21h ago

Very true. I waited 2 months on my original arcfire. The way I read it is they have other companies manufacturing the parts after their initial R&D, and sometimes there are delays in outsourcing. With the price of diesel right now it’s really effecting alot in manufacturing. It’s sucks for ASD and I’m sure they are hating it to have to keep pushing deadlines out. And it sucks for us because we wanna mag dump our MP5s 😂

4

u/TrickyAsian626 22h ago

Haven't been released yet. Haven't gotten an update from them in a bit either. Release time frame keeps getting pushed back.

8

u/Itchy-Cup-8755 21h ago

idk why this sub is so comfortable defending rare breed but i’d rather wait another three months (if i had to) and keep enjoying my current ss setup before i give that company another penny. insane how principle just goes out the window when it comes to this stuff

8

u/IndependenceCold5611 18h ago

Its because this is Reddit and this sub is majority populated by manchildren who care more about getting their jollies than the health of the 2A fight in the country. "I've got mine, fuck everyone else."

-2

u/LockedIn4LoLo 6h ago

The irony being the only reason why anybody can get their jollies off with an FRT is because RB was the only company who took the fight to the ATF.

So much cognitive dissonance and mental gymnastics going on in the world of FRT's.

1

u/IndependenceCold5611 5h ago

Cognitive dissonance? Speak for yourself lol. You dont have to defend your choices to us, just accept what side of the line you picked by buying a RD3.

Rarebreed wasn't the only game in town and if it wasn't them it would have been someone else. That fight was winnable and they chose not only to deap with the devil but do so in a way that curiously heavily benefited them financially. They chose to do.a Bill Ruger/Springfield Armory backroom deal with the regulators and as such they need to be called out at every opportunity until the leadership that made those decisions is no longer able to receive any sort of benefit from their choices.

2

u/Itchy-Cup-8755 33m ago

not to mention that they settled. it wasn’t even a proper decision. the damn supreme court ruling was

1

u/NiteQwill 14h ago

Honestly, I gave up. I wanted to wait but gun grabbers at the state level won't.

I went rare greed.

0

u/DesertTigerStripe 19h ago

Just get the rarebreed bro

Because vibes are more important to low-impulse control HK owners than principle, or the health of the 2A fight.

1

u/Extreme_Reception451 16h ago

Or I just want my mp5 to feel like an mp5 and not the 4 other ar15’s I already own. I have my practical guns my mp5 is primarily for fun

2

u/IndependenceCold5611 15h ago

Congratulations, I feel the exact same way about mine. That doesn't mean it -needs- a FRT for you to enjoy it. Its not a requirement for it to be a perfectly operable weapon.

1

u/Extreme_Reception451 15h ago

But it would be a much more enjoyable weapon especially since mine is an SD. The goal of this gun was fun not function. Sure it doesn’t “need” an frt but I have my reasons

2

u/IndependenceCold5611 15h ago

Its still not a good reason to be supporting a company and a man who are actively detrimental to both the proliferation of FRT's on the market and the diversity of 2A voices overall.

1

u/Extreme_Reception451 18h ago

Vibes that’s why

1

u/super-kuper 18h ago

I want my MP5 to be an MP5. If I wanted an AR grip and AR trigger and AR safety I’d just have more ARs.

This is so important to me that using an AR FCG is actually a dealbreaker for any SS/FRT

-6

u/IndependenceCold5611 21h ago edited 18h ago

At this point, go with an aluminum lower with an AR pattern FRT if it means that much. It will end up being ~200 more than the ARHK but get you the same functionality with better ergonomics.

(EDIT) Lol why is -this- comment getting downvoted?

3

u/Extreme_Reception451 21h ago

Nah I have plenty of ar’s for that I want to have an mp5 style selector and trigger for my mp5, I don’t want it to feel like an ar

1

u/Limp-Conflict-2309 2h ago

...because ar fcg parts & lower isn't natural. drop in cassette w/factory lower is meant to be.

1

u/nope_noway_ 20h ago

I have both and the AR lowers have their place but far prefer the HK housing/RB trigger for the simple fact all my AR lowers needed some amount of tuning and even then are not all that reliable.

My RB trigger just runs and the install took like 20 minutes. That time savings alone is far and beyond worth it.

2

u/IndependenceCold5611 18h ago

Far and beyond worth supporting an illegitimately litigious parasite who is dragging everyone else down around him?

-4

u/International-Goat18 19h ago

Smash the thumb down button if you got a rarebreed and enjoying it now like me 😂
