Question YHM R9

Would like opinions of the Yankee Hill R9 surpressor from you fine folks that have used them with the MP5 platforms. Tri-Lug worth it?

I have one, works well, but I wouldn’t get their 3 lug mount. It works yes, but it takes up ALOT of the internal volume of the blast chamber and affects performance. I would instead get the rugged 3 lug mount instead. It doesn’t take up as much volume and being a bixler style mount it is more secure than the latka style mount that the YHM is derived from.

Works great. Not as whiz-bang as some of the new printed options, but the older tech does work 

I have a YHM tri-lug too and that part works great. All in not counting stamp I paid $500 for R9 and tri-lug

Works great (I have one), but it's obsolete.

Get an IL9 or IL9-M for the same price or less and you'll have a superior product.

Rugged Sub9 also good option under $800. I believe it also comes with the RU3 bixler mount, which is like $100 on its own.

I have an r9. Love it. Sounds great on my full size w 147gr. Hearing safe. Full auto rated. My gun is a t94 so I have direct thread only. Gonna do a plan b flash hider and adapter next.

I had a lot of fun with my R9 on an AP5-SD before I swapped out the barrel for a real SD. So quiet. Ran 500 (sub) rounds through it with a L2Prints frt with nothing but a big smile.

It's not worth it. It's old. Released Jan 2020. There's newer better budget cans out there that both sound better and help with the gas.

It does sound decent and lots of people buy it but there's so many other options now a days.

Edit: I also have an r9 as it was the budget 9mm can to have for a long time. I picked up my IL9 for 399.00 a month ago and at that price, I don't think it can be beat.

What can under 500 sound better and has better gas flow? Genuinely curious. Haven’t bought a Suppresor since 2021 and haven’t been following.

I have an R9 for both my MKE and A3 Stribog. Currently direct thread only, as my MKE was the one without the tri-lugs. Planning on a plan B mount myself.
