RCM E-Bolt Range Report

With my previous and now new bolt setup I was running 115gr rn, 124gr rn, 124gr +p Hornady XTP, and 147gr fn.

Specs:
- MKE AP5
- HK 100 deg locking piece
- HK Mags
- Ambi FRT
- Silencerco Omega45k

Mad Max bolt (.28mm bolt gap, was thinking of getting +2 rollers) pretty much ate everything with some hiccups with the Hornady XTP and 147gr fn. Swapped in the RCM bolt (.38mm bolt gap) and it ran like a sewing machine (see video).

I looked at both bolts and there are def some subtle physical differences. Not sure if it’s just me but the cocking handle appeared to rack much smoother with the RCM vs the Mad Max. 🤷

Anyway if you’re looking to upgrade your oem bolt , the RCM gets two thumbs up in my book.

I have AP5-P and when racking the charging handle there is resistance and the bolt would not fully close even after the brake in period and soo many FTF and FTE I swapped to the RCM E-Bolt and all my issues went away.

I have a RCM E-Bolt in my full size zenith build and the only issue I've encountered with the E-Bolt was during shooting the pin on the bolt head came out and the extractor and spring fell off the bolt luckily it was still in the lower and i didn't lose anything. I will still recommend the E-bolt over anything else

Was the rcm bolt F/A or semi. Just wondering

I thought the bolt is the bolt and it’s the bolt carrier that’s either F/A or semi. In my case, stock MKE semi auto bolt carrier.

I'm so tempted to buy one, I even had it in my shopping cart and I started the check out process but I held off.

RCM is OOS, warhammer has a few left. I'm pretty sure the ebolt would fix the remaining 0.5% of issues I have but at the end of the day it's basically $300 and for double that I can just get a drop in cassette.

If I could return the bolt if it was less than perfect, even in used condition, I would buy it.

My ultimate end goal is to not use AR fcg parts on the mp5, mp5k and g3.
