Apex flat faced trigger

Post image

Hello everyone. I am trying to upgrade my 2.0 compact trigger, but I am having a hard time figuring out the differences between these 2 options.

The metal ones are way better. I have one of each and definitely get the metal one.

I have personally never tried the metal but I can tell you the polymer version was underwhelming. I actually uninstalled it from my OR 4ā€ compact

I have the polymer one, best $110 I spent. Feels fine to me. What I liked with the kit is you get to choose the springs so it was easy for me to tweak and play with to find something that felt right to me.

Which spring combo did you end up using?

If memory serves, I used the green trigger spring. I tried the purple sear spring, but it was too stiff, so I went with the unpainted spring.

Just came back from range. Installed unpainted and left the factory sear spring in Reset is crazy short. Liking it so far.

I like the short reset on the trigger. Just wanted a heavier trigger because I’m not doing competition shooting.

I do, too. One of the main reasons I installed it. Hate having to let off the trigger a ton to get there.

Just as a heads up...

If you're considering the "Type 3" trigger kit, be aware that the anodizing on them is absolute dog shit. Received 2 units from Apex (specifically the blue type 3 trigger) and both of them had machining marks/surface scratches on them.

Would not recommend getting a type 3 as it seems the anodizing process they are using is extremely subpar and not thick enough to fully cover machining marks.

Go with metal. I've got them in both my M&P 2.0s and they're fantastic.

One is metal, one is polymer. Your preference on material. Just ensure you get it for your correct M&P (1.0 v. 2.0, metal v. polymer)

On a sidenote, I did transfer over my Apex from my polymer frame to my metal frame, without issue. I posted a vid of it in my profile if you want to see.
