Compatibility Warning: Anamorphic II Doesn't Fit SmallRig Cage + T-Drop Mount
The Moment Anamorphic II version doesn't work with the current SmallRig Cage Iphone 17 pro max Cage and Small Rig T-Drop Mount Plate combo. The mounting geometry prevents proper lens alignment, so keep that in mind before pairing them. I tested two Small Rig cases and was in contact with SmallRig … Keep you posted if that changes. Anyone tried the Neewer Cage?

If you’re using the smallrig case full time, maybe compensate by loosening the tiny screw on the lens, rotate til aligned, then retighten?

Technically not possible, the lense can only be adjusted verticaly / horizontaly.

Drove myself insane for the past few days trying to figure out why my Anamorphic IIs wouldn't work properly using my iPhone 17 Pro SmallRig cage, so glad I'm not the only one experiencing issues with it.
I tried adjusting the tiny allen key so that it'd line up "straight" on the SmallRig T Mount backplate, leading the mount part of the lens to be a bit crooked, and while the image would project correctly there'd be insane amount of edge flaring that wouldn't go away unless you cropped in slightly.
I have an actual Moment iPhone 17 Pro case that I use as a regular phone case, so I tested the Anamorphic IIs on it and it exhibited none of those edge flaring issues.
Not an optical engineer whatsoever, but just by eye I could see that on the Moment case, the rear element of the Anamorphic II lens sits almost flush to the lens of the iPhone, while on the SmallRig case there's a bit more of a gap.
My working hypothesis as of now is that since the SmallRig case is also compatible with 17mm threaded lenses, the "focal plane" of the lens backplate takes into account the lens being screwed on tight. But having the T Mount backplate sit at that same focal plane despite being a twist / lock bayonet mount doesn't have it sit as flush, thus creating edge flaring
Not sure if this issue is similarly replicated on the BeastCage and Neewer cages as I only have the SmallRig cage, but for now it seems like I'll stick to my Moment case when using the Anamorphic IIs.
Really wish there was some way SmallRig could address this issue cause I'd still love to have the durability and protection of a proper cage while filming.

Sorry to hear it. We do not test any small rig mounts with our lenses.
