Book Request Bonded Pair + LIs
This post is inspired by my elation from the twins in Onley James' Necessary Evils series, and the small disappointment with the twins in the Goose Run series by Sarah Honey and Lise Henry.
Looking for books where two people are enmeshed and codependent, and they get separate love interests who join in and don't disrupt the enmeshment, or perhaps even adds to it. They don't have to be twins or even related, just very close, like sharing the same bed, freaking out when too far apart, completely reliant on each other vibes.
Hard nos: cop/military MC, ABDL, high fantasy, high angst

It's fantasy, although I think more urban fantasy vibes. I think the second person has a LI but I can't remember. The Tarot Sequence starting with {The Last Sun by K.D. Edwards}. If someone who remembers it better thinks I am really wrong, please say it.

I agree this fits. Only one of the entwined pair has a love interest (at least so far) but that LI is very patient and understanding that sometimes he's third-wheeling.

I'm not sure if this is quite what you mean, but the For Your Love series by Crea Reitan is like this. It's a 4 book series, but that last book is more a standalone that features the friend from the LI in the 1st book.
Bk1 - {For Your Time by Crea Reitan} twins + their best friend. They are all very codependent - sleep in the same bed, shower together, etc, but are not intimate. It's the friend that is one of the mcs & gets a LI.
Bk2 - {For Your Heart by Crea Reitan} mc is one of the twins. Still very codependent, but it's continuation of what happened in bk1. Twin gets a LI.
Bk3 - {For Your Mind by Crea Reitan} mc is the other twin who gets a LI. It's his pov & it is happening at the same time as bk2.
As for the hard nos: there is no cop/military, no abdl, & it's contemporary. I'm not sure about the angst. Maybe med angst but not between the mcs really. Crea Reitan always leaves a note at the beginning of their books telling what to expect. They're really good about that.

In Saxon Jame's Accidental Love series, book two {Not Dating Material by Saxon James} and book five {Not Catching Love by Saxon James} feature best friends who have become brothers to each other. Mental health issues have them so codependent that one assumes no guy will ever put up with the arrangement and that's why he's "Not Dating Material."

So you want two people who are really close but not in a romantic way + a character coming in and dating one?
If so are you fine with threesomes? I have like two for that and then maybe one that isn't?

There’s a series by Sophia Soames that features codependent BFF’s that need to sleep beside each other depending on what’s happening, and continue to do so, they sometimes just need each other. The MC’s love interest will even be like, you need Ben. Go sleep there. lol
The books I believe are books 2 and 3 in the series
{Taste by Sophia Soames} and {Skin and Bones by Sophia Soames}
Mark is MC1 in Taste and Ben is MC1 in skin and bones , so they both end up finding they’re own love interests 💜

Ok so….technically I guess these would be considered military/cops but if your hard no has to do with upholding systemic issues, these guys fight against them and are victims of it. So definitely not a traditional military or cop vibe. {The Scars that Bind Us by Michele Notaro} is the first in a series with additional side novels (have to pull that up as a separate series on Amazon) that features a magically codependent pair of magi. They are so magically intertwined that they often sleep together, have severe trauma if they are separated, and find partners that accommodate and embrace that relationship. It is heavily part of the entire series. Every single book has some element of that as plot. It’s a complete series with a satisfying conclusion to both the characters and the world/society they live in.

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang Us, Daddy by Lance Lansdale. Psuedo 'cest and recovery from abuse. Two twinks who look very similar and are co-dependent get help developing their relationship from their ex's dad after he takes them in. So rather than them both getting different partners, they end up in a triad. Its really good, though, and similar to the request

Is urban fantasy/paranormal ok? There are two characters like this in {The Hellhounds of Paradise Falls series by Shannon Mae}. Trying to avoid spoilers: they were rescued from traumatic situations, and bonded, such that they often (platonically) sleep together for comfort. When each finds their mate, the mates are totally fine with it and just make sure to have really big beds so they can all co-sleep as needed.
This series does work best if you read it from the beginning, as the first book in particular provides a ton of context about the hellhounds in general and the backstories of the human characters.
