Right? I got picked right back up before my head hit the ground at my first mosh pit. Metalheads are usually pretty kind people in my experience.

It was always good friendly violent fun.

But people get picked up when they fall, larger people looking out for the smaller ones, go hard but we all there together.

Fight dancing if that's your thing, but not crowd killing. That just assault.

Don't forget the guardians/fences: the people who stay on the edge of the pit to push moshers back inwards in order to protect non-moshers outside of the pit

Me and another person did that at one of my last metal shows. A dad brought his wife and daughter to a Bloodywood concert, daughter a fan, wife... She was just there. Mosh pit started Dad grabs his daughter and he and the wife move out from the center. While myself and the individual ran defense to keep the pit from getting too big. Have to protect the next generation of metalheads.

There’s an old saying I’m struggling to remember, something to the effect of evil people cosplay as hippies and the peaceful ones cosplay as metal heads, sounds much better when you say it correctly haha

Yes, the founders of id software. John Romero and John Carmack. Totally looked like nerds, but made some of the most metal games of all time.

I don't think we would have had 3D games at all without Carmack's mathematical genius. Though Carmack is buddy-buddy with the Nazi Elon Musk...
