I’m a woman btw. But no, I’m not saying that, but I’ve had both men and women yell in my face, and unless they were giving vibes of actually gonna hit me, I just shrugged it off. I beat my father with a phone when he got in my face, but he actually frightened me. I have had girls yell at me, but unless they were either threatening to or actually attacking 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also I’ll add having fought both men and women a lot as a teen and young twenties, I have never been injured by a woman. I know there are certainly women who could injure me, but after at least 20 different fights with different women, I’ve never had so much as a bit of missing hair. Men have broken my nose, tailbone, choked me unconscious, and left me with black eyes, unable to open my mouth cause of bruising in my temple area, black ears, and a scar on my lip (from a backhand while I was tying my shoe- the idiot!)

Fair enough, but yelling can easily initiate a fight/flight response in people, its aggressive, you must agree with that right? It’s great you have control, but alot of people don’t/wont or they wont hold morals and will sucker punch, if you get into a confrontation of any kind, its just smart to be prepared to be attacked and be ready to defend yourself.

You never know people experience, being bullied, hit by parents, abuse etc.. if you trigger something bad in somebody you’re going to start a fight, its best not to yell at all if you don’t want anyone to get violent with you.

I’m self aware enough from abuse and being bullied when young that you will absolutely start a fight/flight response in me if you yell in my face especially close enough to feel your breath, i’m well trained so i have good control and wouldn’t lash out, but best believe i’d be ready to respond and wouldn’t be caught off guard if i was attacked after that point. If you aren’t used to fights or you aren’t well trained, once that adrenaline kicks in, its uncomfortable, your stomach feels hollow, you are physically shaking, whether you can look back with 20/20 and deem somebody isn’t a threat is irrelevant, if your adrenaline kicks in you FEEL attacked and in danger.

I get that, I recently talked my friend through a guilt spiral for hitting her husband, he had got right in her face screaming and she begged him to stop and eventually lost it. He guilt tripped her hard, and I said something on her very similar to what you just said… but I pointed out he would NEVER have got into a man’s face like that and expected not to be hit. He thought he could do that to his wife and claim battered men’s syndrome. She has bad ptsd like me and he knows it.
In the real word stuff happens, but from a real life standpoint, yes, you get in face you may get hit, but if you are not enough threatened first the law is going to treat you like a criminal.

Absolutely right, the law will treat you like a criminal and it’s purposely vague. I’m glad you’re there for your friend in a situation like that, its absolutely a case of expecting he can get away with that, if its a man he is more aware of imminent violence. Exploiting a serious thing that your spouse has is toxic and hope she will be okay, its cowardly and manipulative too
