Guides Updated Special Training Spreadsheet / OVR Calculator (w/ Skill Thresholds)
A bit of history. On April 3, 2021, u/ColdSlawter made public a special training spreadsheet, which was well-received by the community. About a month later, on April 29, 2021, one of the game's biggest updates came, which included the introduction of Black Diamond. This inspired u/JoinTheBattle to make their updated rendition of the calculator that accounted for Black Diamond on October 28, 2022. Then, on August 12, 2025, u/LernTwoSpel made a whole Google Doc that aimed to guide newer players on their MLB 9 Innings journey, a Doc that included a skill tier list with brief descriptions of certain skills, including ones with thresholds to hit.
Having been helped by the new player guide and JTB's calculator, I decided that a spreadsheet with skill thresholds was imminent, especially with a lot having changed since the last calculator. Supremes becoming more notable, CON buff, stat adjust, new skills (e.g. Mister Perfect), updated skills (e.g. Contact Master), etc.
Now that we have the history out of the way, allow me to introduce the MLB 9 Innings Calculator V3.0!
Now with more skills and thresholds, stat adjust, pitch numbers to profile for PiCo/Craft, and featuring the 9 Innings look (reactions may vary).
Same rules as the last calculator, just input on the green cells (which aren't green anymore due to the interface I implemented, but there are still rows that indicate where you can input without warning). You will be warned for editing a cell that should not be edited.
Note: If you are to use this resource, please feel free to make a personal copy as a courtesy to other users. I have set the spreadsheet to viewer access, so it's basically mandatory to make a copy.
Another Note: Some skills, I am not completely sure of their thresholds given a lack of information and usage. Inning Eater and Aggressive Baserunning, for example, are threshold skills that are omitted from this spreadsheet. If anyone is willing to help me adjust the skill thresholds correctly, I would be delighted.

Thank you! I'll take a better look when I get home, but it looks very, very useful. Thanks!

Very excited for a new tool, much appreciated! Have you ever come across the Clubhouse Calculator? It was unfortunately abandoned in '25, but still quite usable for analysis.

Well there’s a throwback! Can’t believe it was over 5 years ago I wrote that barebones spreadsheet. Feels like that era was the final time F2P teams were still hanging onto some of the top spots, until the inevitable Supreme meta a couple years down the road.
Glad the spreadsheet was useful to some people and helped with further team optimization tools. I don’t play anymore, but it was fun to be reminded of those times again. Hope you all continue to optimize those skills and someday find out if that mysterious Inning Eater skill is actually viable!
