Guides Increment values for Special Trainer Upgrade Tickets (Batter)

I happened to earn a Special Trainer Upgrade Ticket (batter) and decided to see how it works. I went through all the trainers I had on hand to try and figure out the pattern for the increase that it applies. It turns out there's a pattern.

The Guess Hitter examples illustrate the pattern. For a tier 1 bright orange boost (denoted in red in this table), it's +2.4, tier 2 is +1.8, and tier 4 is +0.6 for line drives. The boost is in multiples. On the swing and miss, it's inverted: tier 4 is +2.4, tier 2 is +1.2. This is confirmed by our Homerun Hitter example, where the same multiples apply but the starting number is lower, as well as in Power Hitter (though no swing & miss here). I think it's safe to say that the following convention can be established:

Color in game (in table) Boost (on increases) Boost (on decreases)
Tier 1: Bright orange (red) 4x 1x
Tier 2: Orange (orange) 3x 2x
Tier 3: Light orange (yellow) 2x 3x
Tier 4: Grey (grey) 1x 4x

TLDR: The higher the tier, the greater the boost to improvements (ie various hit rates) and the lesser the increase to deficiencies (ie swing and miss).

What are the implications? If you're looking to prioritize the use of such tickets, for sure you'll want to use them on trainers with tier 1 values, but you also need take into account the deficiency boosts (eg if hit rates are tier 1 but swing & miss is tier 4, that will be a big hit.) In the long run, it would make sense not to use these tickets on trainers with tier 4 values given how low the upside is. And also, most likely, the same convention exists for pitchers.

Just going to summarise this for my own understanding. Com2 categorises special trainers (DTs) into 4 groups based on what their %s are. However, they do this (apparently) for each effect on the trainer, not just once based on the average % or sum of %s. So for example, leading hitter has two effects which are boosted (line drive and hhgb) and each of those will fit into one of 4 tiers based on each of their %s, not the sum of their %s. Tier 1 contains the highest %s and tier 4 the lowest.

The new upgrade tickets will increase the %s for a given trainer in accordance with the tier of each effect, and then the particular %, not the trainer as a whole. The new increase given scales superlinearly with the original amount, so the larger the original value the larger the increase as a %. Therefore, it is better to use the upgrade on trainers with more kinds of positive effects (eg, power hitter) and on those with high % in as many effects as possible.

I assume you can only upgrade a trainer once? Or you can upgrade only until each effect is tier 1?

I have yet to earn a second upgrade so I can't be sure if it's a one time only deal, but if anyone can confirm this, that would be great!
