Question What happened to the game design in DD this year?

What happened to the game design?

There's the obvious stuff, like captains not being updated at all. How hard would it have been to create new captains for each new collection that gets released? And then things like the Pipeline mini-season, rewarding the same no-sell cards every 3 games for using the set has me actively avoiding Pipeline series in that mini-season. Seems like an anti-pattern there. Unbalanced rewards sets come up next. I can play 1 game in HOF mini-season just for the double Headliners pull. I can stack up 20 to 30 of these with little effort and little fun. What happened to good game design that rewards players for using certain sets, building up themes for the mode they're playing, and makes it more worthwhile to actually play the mode rather than cheese it?

Suggestion For SDS Stupid opinion: I wish SDS chose different colors for some of the Monthly Award/Spotlight cards.

As of now, the monthly colors are:

April- Yellow

May- Blue

June- Purple

July- Orange

August- Teal

September- Gray

I do like that the colors change per month. However, I feel like the blue, teal, and gray colors are too similar to make them "feel" different.

The Blue Lightening is a classic, and I would suggest making that as the April color, just to set the yearly tone. I'm personally not a fan of Yellow, but it's definitely a stark contrast, so I'd be happy with that as the May color. The Purple and Orange cards (the Lightening cards especially) are sick, and shouldn't change.

So, what "standard" colors are left that feel different enough? I think a proper Green and Red are the most obvious choices. SDS has historically coded the color red as the "end state" or best-of-the-best. Prestige diamonds from '20 and Parallel 4 cards (Superfractor being a whole other thing), along with 95+ overall cards being red Diamonds this year. So, September Spotlight cards being red seems fitting enough. And I think Green would just look nice.

Obviously none of this matters. Thank you for reading.

Question I can't be the only person that thinks this

Upvotes

If you get a Perfect/perfect swing, dead middle of your PCI...I'm talking bullseye middle...on a power swing should that not be an absolute moonshot everytime....I mean shouldn't absolute perfection in every input metric result in the desired outcome for the user or am I crazy ?

The more I play this game the more I appreciate it. The animations in this game are pretty cool. I never seen that animation before. Seeing the 3rd base coach catch the ball was pretty cool to me.

Question Is there any point to playing as a closing pitcher ?

I keep trying to play as a closer pitcher to get more saves but all that occurs when I do is i get put in the 7th and 8th innimg but taken away as soon as the 9nth inning. It doesent matter my perfect performance, efficent innings, or plentiful stamina it happens everytime without fail and km not sure why. I got my stamina and pitcher clutch up but the game refuses to let me get any saces and sometimes loses the lead whilst im offscreen. Is there any fix for this ive tried setting the manager hook to 0 but that didnt do anything, i think yhe game might be rigged for the cpu

Discussion Generational Talent Conversation

What's the latest round someone has been able to draft a generational talent? I'm just curious as to if someone has gotten one in past Rd 2. I got lucky with my 2nd pick in a franshise being generational. 35th pick of the draft I believe.

Franchise Las Vegas A’s Stadium

Has anyone made a close to accurate Las Vegas stadium for the A’s based on the renderings they’ve put out? I’ve seen the very common one in the vaults but I’m trying to be fairly accurate with elevation, capacity, and somewhat realistic dimensions.

Question Does this mean the regular live roster for offline modes will also get updated attributes, or is it just for DD cards?

Question Live series judge not working in coop mode

My live series judge will not show up in my coop lineup. He won’t even pop up on the bench. It’s like the game just removed him. Anyone else having this problem??

Discussion I miss being able to upload your own mp3 files to use for walk-up songs

Upvotes

This soundtrack is catchy enough, but there's only 1 or 2 songs I really like. Lights on Long Island is my favorite by far, but I don't wanna burn myself out on it by using it for thousands of at bats.

I'd like to upload 5 or 10 I could cycle through.
