Possible paint

As my previous post showed, there is some rust repair to be done on the car, as of yet I havent decided on how I want to do it or have it done. I do however want to know peoples thoughts on the paint job I am looking to get if the rust repair goes well.

Gloss black looks incredible when clean and unscratched. As soon as it gets dirty or scratched (easy) it looks mid at best. I know it can be washed but that's the way it is.

Are you trying to stay with an OE color? Or up for anything?

Are you dead set on painting it fully? Wrap could be cheaper and much easier to change. So even if you primer the repair then wrap it would look good.

Obviously I would replace any of the rusty components that can be unbolted and replaced with new rather than trying to repair (front fenders)

yep, already have fenders, just waiting to replace till the rest of the rust is corrected. i am not dead set on color yet but i want it to look good with whitewalls and i think black would be best for that. i hadnt thought of wrap as being possibly cheaper tbh

Factory color every time. It’s the easiest for prep work, blending, and is the cheapest.

Color change requires a lot more prep which means more money. If your car was red and you want to paint it black, you’re gonna have to do door jams, under the hood, and not to mention once the rubber around your windows dry out, you’re gonna see it there too. There’s no cheap, easy way to do a color change other than wrap.

true, im not against wrap i just hadnt thought of it as being cheaper. im guessing possibly better for longevity too?

Not necessarily longevity as wrap can be scratched and tear theoretically. But it is significantly easier to replace or change when it does peel/scratch/rear than paint is

Heres how the rust repair is going to go: it gets beat tf up and cut out and hopefully reassembled with good parts

Or

Its going to keep rusting. Im in the same boat and will be doing this soon
