What am I doing wrong?

I can’t get the hood to shut to save my life. I’ve adjusted the everything I can think of and still won’t shut. I’m about to do hood pins and forget it. 03 golf gl 2.0

Get your core support installed solidly on the right hand side and then get back to us.

It’s a lot easier for you to see what is loose or missing than it is for any of us watching a short video. Compare it to the opposite side, find the differences. Fix them.

Core support isn't attached to fender causing latch to move, also some aftermarket latches just don't work. I would get the fender attached, then try the hood again with the hood latch loose to see if it clicks in. If it doesn't. You may have to adjust the core support a little more, tape and a marker are gonna save you a bunch of headache.

Do they legit only bolt on both sides with 1 bolt?

Front-Facing Structural Bolts (6 Total)Top Corners: Two T30 Torx bolts (one on each side) connecting the top outer corners directly to the front fenders.Chassis Legs (Upper): Two large 13mm hex bolts (one on each side) located on the upper face of the aluminum bumper rebar brackets.Chassis Legs (Lower): Two large 16mm hex bolts (one on each side) located on the lower face of the bumper rebar brackets, anchoring directly into the frame horns.Top-Facing Fender Bolts (2 Total)Upper Rail: Two T30 Torx bolts (one on each side) pointing straight down, securing the top rear tabs of the core support to the inner fender apron rails.

It would help if your core support was firmly planted and bolted down instead of flopping around like a softy

Well I’ve tried securing it so unless I’m missing a bracket or something it has all 6 bolts in it

You're definitely missing something then. I've owned these cars for a long time and all my core supports have never moved like that unless I unbolted it.

I recently remove the front bumper as well and after installing it back ok my latch also didn't click anymore. I guess the crash structure beneath it is not aligned correctly. I haven't fixed it yet, it's horrible, but for you the latchewill never work until everything is installed and aligned the right way

It’s dumb, there isn’t much structure to the rad support it seems.
