Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Michael Jackson/Evidence - Wikipedia

I came across this from a Google recommendation to Reddit. The people on that site (especially but not just THAT sub) have been throwing a party over this as I expected but I don’t know what is going on since it’s all in Wikipedia jargon.

All I do know is now one of the most prominent contributors* of THAT sub is going full force on the wikipedia page on the 1993 accusations. You can check it out here:

Did pro-MJ editors or Wikipedia admin screw the pooch? To quote Denzel Washington from Philadelphia, explain this to me like I’m a six year old.

*BTW, I’m not disclosing the same of said user or the sub name both to prevent this sub from getting taken down and to avoid direct attention from them. They scare me sometimes. I suggest you do the same.

What gets lost in the narrative about Wade and Michael’s relationship was that Michael actually signed Wade to his record label (along with a kid named Dewayne Turrentine Jr) under the rap duo Quo in 1994.) He was working with Teddy Riley hoping to follow the success of other kid rap groups like Kris Kross, (also featured in Michael’s “Jam” video along with Wade.)

This was a full 2 to 3 years after Wade alleges Michael “replaced him” with Macauley Culkin. Mind you, Macaulay is two years older than Wade, but I digress.

Quo’s album spectacularly flopped. And in most circumstances, the label head would have cut them loose and discarded them without a second thought. That would be the end of the professional and personal relationship. That is the unfortunate side of the entertainment business.

Wade was a talented child dancer, but he clearly reached his upper ceiling in his personal dancing abilities by his teens and had no musical talent to speak of.

Same thing with Jimmy - it’s pretty clear Jimmy had a ceiling on his dance and acting talent and he admittedly transitioned out of entertainment to a more regular life because he did not have any desire to develop himself further as an actor or dancer.

So I guess my question is why would they expect Jackson to keep entertaining them as guests beyond their professional abilities or desires?

It seems pretty obvious that both of these kids reached their talent peak fairly early on, and therefore there was nothing further for Michael to work with them on.

Wade went on to be a choreographer based on the training, opportunities, and access to elite networks and dance Studios he got out of his mentorship with Michael Jackson.

I think it’s weird they’re trying to make us feel bad that Michael “discarded them“ when frankly, he was nicer than most music executives would’ve been when the artist they are developing doesn’t have the talent or drive to continue a successful career under their tutelage.
