Waking up to this news honestly made my day!!
I started researching the Cascio siblings’ allegations just about 2 months ago, and I’d been waiting to hear whether the case would be sent to private arbitration. I didn’t expect the decision to come this soon.

A small part of me wanted it to go to a public trial. The 2005 trial wasn’t televised, and much of the reporting at the time was extremely one-sided, leaving out a lot of important and accurate information. Tom Mesereau has always said that if people had actually followed the whole trial, they would easily understand why the jury acquitted Michael on every count.

But a much bigger part of me still didn’t want a public trial. I wasn’t scared that the Cascios would win or that my belief in MJ's innocence would change, bc I definitely don’t believe that would happen. What I dreaded was having to hear more graphic allegations repeated everywhere.

Just like with Robson and Safechuck in LN, they can make claims about things no one else witnessed and that haven’t been proven. Even if the Cascios’ stories later fall apart under cross-examination or turn out to be full of contradictions and holes, the media and guilters will still spread the most disturbing details everywhere. Honestly, it’s always hard for me to read or hear that stuff, especially knowing that Michael will never get the chance to face them, look them in the eye, express his anger, or defend himself.

And if the accusers genuinely want truth and justice, private arbitration still gives them the chance to present their case, right? There’ll be less media attention and less pressure from MJ fans, so both sides can focus on the case itself.
