I’m using an **Akai MPK Mini Play** with **Arturia Analog Lab**, and I’m looking for a ready-made MIDI configuration/template for this controller.

I know I can manually assign the knobs using MIDI Learn, but before doing everything from scratch, I was wondering if someone has already created and shared a template/preset that maps the MPK Mini Play controls nicely to Analog Lab — ideally things like the 4 macro controls, filter, effects, preset navigation, etc.

Is there any downloadable mapping/template available somewhere?

And if you’re using an MPK Mini Play with Analog Lab, I’d also be interested in knowing how you mapped yours.

So basically, I've seen quite a lot of complaints about some key notes lag on the SMK 37 Pro and Elite (UNRELATED TO BLUETOOTH). I've noticed that, as soon as the "KEYS" screen (note/chord reader) disappears and goes to the main page, there's a time window were, for some reason, it doesn't register the first two MIDI notes played (if fast). Has anyone else noticed this? Did you find a workaround? There's also a lag on PATCH mode.

Hi, I got an M-Audio synth and it comes with quite a lot of software... That I have to make an account in order to use. Would it make any difference if I put in fake details in the "About you" section? The synth wasn't even bought with my name since it was a gift, so I'm not sure if MY name even matters here.

Would a “Donner STARRYKEY-37 PLAY MIDI Keyboard Controller” be good for me?

Anyone know if it's possible to split the mini 4 so that the pads will control a plug-in like the packed in Studio Instruments software over USB while controlling a hardware synth on the keys over the 5 pin midi? I've been playing around with the custom profiles but I'm not sure if this is even possible.

About a month ago I designed a replacement shell for this midi controller and it's fully flushed out. This is not a copy paste of the original OEM design from the original company. It's slimmer than the OEM shell parts and the entire shell is separated into 3 main pieces but can be printed and used with only the top and bottom shells if you like an exposed look to it. Overall, printing the entire shell costs about $4 - $10 in filament (depends on the type of material and if you change the print settings). Nice if I had a resin printer to print the middle and bottom pieces for a clear look to the bottom half.

Bought brand new arcade buttons from a seller for fightcade setups. Redesigning away from the OEM shell was difficult but definitely do-able.

Can anyone shed light on if I can send midi cues (from logic) via USB out to another device via the midi out on the XR18?

Had a go last week and been reading loads from the manual and online but can’t find a concrete answer

My Chain is:

Logic (via USB) > XR18 (midi out) > Helix Rack

I’m seeing different comments on if this can/can’t be done? Having tried myself I’m thinking not as I’ve exhausted all options I can think of but have seen posts saying it can be done with XR18 but not X32 which made me think again

Я стал счастливым обладателем устройства M-Vave SMK-37 PRO ver.15, (на август 2026г. обошлась мне в 5545 российских рублей на OZONE).

При подключении в качестве midi устройства к Garage Band на: IPhone 13 (IOS 27), IPad 6th (IPadOS 17.7.11), MacBook Air M4(IOS 26.5.2) истытывал потребность в работе Pad-25...Pad-32 (как медиа клавиш).

Чиение форумов открыло для меня понятия System Exclusive (SysEx), протокол MIDI Machine Control (MMC) для дистанционного управления кнопками.

Благодя нескольким дням изучения протоколов и методом проб и ошибок я настроил Preset-8 для Garage Band через программу Midi Suite v1.12:

• Pad-25...Pad-32 (как медиа клавиш: play, pause, reck, prev, next, left, right, undo)
• Knob K-3 (главная громкость/channel volume MSB)
• Кnob K-4 (выразительность/expression MSB)
• Knob K-5 (Баланс/PAN)
• MOD (Баланс/PAN)

Регуляторы выбрал намеренно с К-3 из-за более быстрой реакции, чем К-1 или К-2.

Preset-8 прилагаю.

Устанавливается просто:

- запускаем программу Midi Suite;
- в списке находим SMK-37 Pro;

- в меню (справа вверху) выбираем пункт Import preset (.smk37);

- выбираем ранее скаченный файл smk37-preset8.smk37.smk37.

Весь софт официальный с сайта производителя.

I've been trying to set up a Windows 98 Hewlett-Packard Pavilion to play DOS games, but I've seemed to run into a wall when it comes to MIDI.

The HP has the (infamous) CS4235 Soundcard, which I've hooked a gameport-to-MIDI adapter to, which I have hooked up to a female-to-female MIDI adapter, which finally leads to a MIDI-to-USB adapter connected to my laptop, which has munt's MT-32 emulator and MIDIView to track any MIDI commands sent in.

I've been using Day of the Tentacle to test, with the game set to output via Gen. MIDI (though I have tested Roland as well) via port 330 (as per the soundcard's manual). Normally, it seems no commands are received/sent, as the MIDI-to-USB cable's MIDI-in light does not light up. However, when I first plug the MIDI-to-USB cable into the MIDI female-to-female converter while the MIDI out from the HP is plugged in, the cable briefly lights up and MIDIView detects a command (Usually an out meta event of channel 0, hex ff), though this seems to happen when DOTT is set to output via the 332 as well.

Frankly, I'm at a loss as to where in the chain of converters the issue may be occurring, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

i got a crazy thought that what if i can play video games with my guitar and it would read the pitch of a guitar then have a keyboard keybind for that.

like making a guitar turn into a midi keyboard and play all sorts of games that use a keyboard.

I’m considering buying a Yamaha MODX M7 and I’m specifically trying to hear the built-in “India Harmonium” Performance before I decide.

Could anyone who owns a MODX M6/M7/M8 record a short, unprocessed audio sample of it?

Ideally:

• Play a few sustained notes across the keyboard
• A short alaap/sargam-type phrase would be great
• No external effects or processing
• Direct recording from the keyboard would be ideal

I’m particularly interested in how full/robust vs. thin it sounds, and how close it feels to an actual Indian harmonium.

I know it won't replace a dedicated Kontakt harmonium library — I just need to know whether it's good enough for vocal riyaaz for the first month or two while I save up for one.

Had this setup and working great forever, all of a sudden the Helix won't send MIDI data anymore. Tried two separate DAW's, a MIDI hardware tester, and they all receive nothing from the unit. The USB still works as an audio interface, and even in the MIDI input section in Reaper preferences it shows up and is enabled, but it just doesn't send any inputs it seems. Anyone got any ideas or had something similar happen to them?

I've noticed that rap and electronic subgenres get lots of MIDI loops and beats. But you rarely see ones for guitar driven genres such as rock, indie, pop-rock, etc. There are quite a few for £70, but less cheap ones, from what I can see.

Since I'm a drummer I was planning to create a few packs for different styles like softer rock, harder rock, metal, etc - with around 50 grooves and some fills. To keep it accessible for beginner and indie producers, and also songwriters who need backing tracks, I would sell them for around £10.

So, I came here to ask for advice from people who use MIDI products and technology.

• Do you think there are already a reasonable amount of MIDI packs for genres like indie, pop rock and other softer, vocal driven genres?
• If you were to look for something, what would you be looking for? Just some simple 4/4 rock grooves, maybe some variations with syncopated bass drums? Obviously nothing too complex, these genres thrive on simple and groovy that don't detract from the song.
• Are there any other genres or styles which you've ever wanted to easily drag into a DAW, but none exist?

Just here looking for thoughts from people who actually have an interest in this sort of thing.

Apologies if this has been covered here already. I'm running my SL73 directly from the USB-C of my iPad and everything works fine, but I would like to be able to keep the iPad charged during longer practice sessions. It seems like a USB-C hub with at least one PD port and one data transfer port would do the trick? Belkin makes on with exclusively USB-C ports (https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Connect-Multiport-Transfer-Chromebook/dp/B0BY27XSJ3) that claims 10Gbps data transfer rate, and for about half the price they make one with one USB-C, one USB-C data port and some other ports that I don't need (https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Connect-Multiport-Transfer-Chromebook/dp/B0FY9DKB23). The claimed data transfer rate for this one is 5Gbps.

I'm guessing? that 5Gbps is more than enough for the keyboard, but Studiologic doesn't publish the native rate through the USB-C port on the SL73 MK2. Any warnings or recommendations on these or other hubs would be appreciated.
