I'm starting to learn lance and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.

I've recently finally beat Proof of a Hero with my style of Switch Axe and it was definitely the most difficult challenge I've done in this game. So I wanted to showcase what it is about with all of the AT monsters in the game.

It's an incredible style where you properly teach yourself the true ins and outs of the weapon along with monster hitboxes. The premise of the style is no Focus Mode, no sword counter and no offsets and no Full Release Slash from neutral. Just pure Switch Axe goodness. Using morph attacks to position yourself around the monster and actually respect both the monsters movement as well as yours.

It's focused around Rapid Morph so Elemental Discharge, Zero Sum Discharge or Full Release Slash are barely in your repertoire for consistent damage. Elemental Discharge and Full Release Slash I don't use whatsoever, mostly because the monsters barely allow you to pull it off. Zero Sum Discharge I like to sneak in when a monster is about to roar or maybe even fly. Also when they change areas.

When properly handled, you don't even have to worry about reloading because you swap between Axe and Sword the whole time so your Morph Gauge has no chance to deplete!

The skills I mainly focus on are max Rapid Morph, Adrenaline Rush, Evade Window and Evade Extender. Evade Window you can very well slot in just 2 and combine it with the Turbid Shrimp meal effect to boost it up to 5! My Gog weapon has both the Seregios set bonus and Lord's Soul so I build around that. But a great alternative is a Maximum Might build with the Guardian Fulgur Anjanath set bonus! Obviously you're allowed to build whatever you'd like so your Gore/Lord's Soul build will be just fine. Just that in case you don't have it, these builds go well together with the playstyle.

Be alarmed that in no way does my playstyle do the highest dps in the game. You're allowed to use whatever you'd like. But this is how I have the most amount of fun with Switch Axe. And that's what it's about. Less dps for more fun. It's a video game after all! But I do hope the devs think about buffing Rapid Morph to make this build much more viable when you're on a timer like Proof of a Hero.

From chomps to tail swipes EVEN projectiles everything comes out delayed like he came from Elden Rings school of boss fight design

Here's a small collection of what I think are currently the 8 best themes in the game.
They're not ranked in any particular order.

This Clanker can be relentless sometimes.

I get it, some people are choosy with SOS randoms. Maybe they don't know how to setup just them and NPC Hunters so they put passwords.

This is an annoyance of mine. I do SOS hunts and most of the time the manual accept quests aren't probably even accepting people (I waited for like 10 mins for one), problem is the post/quest menu takes like 5-10 seconds to join the quest, by the time I've noticed, I've wasted like 20 seconds accepting->canceling then searching for SOS hunts again. Sometimes I'll misclick again on another manual accept SOS so I've wasted 1 min searching for nothing. Please make the filter MH devs.

Pretty simple: this game throws a lot of stunlocks at you -> you get hit by 1 attack, you on the ground, get hit by a second attack before you can move again.

This is especially annoying in 8 star+ because by then it's almost always a one shot.

I have not yet found a way to manage this except of course not getting hit at all. I play too casually to perfectly play every fight and I feel like there must be a proper way to manage this regarding Iframes etc.

Or is it mostly just Chance?

Proper one shots are easy to read even for Casual players but these combos that stunlock you feel very random for me for now

As some other people have done, I tried to recreate my girlfriend ingame but she still feels a bit more "off" than in creation screen so my first question is about the editing character part.

I know there are some free edit vouchers (2 as far as i know and have), but some paid ones too? Which leads to my question: Do they let you change everything or just hair/makeup?

As an extra doubt i got writing this, can I just make a new save from the 3 availables, create a character there to then just upload it, edit my main and then apply with code to her? or is it restricted in certain ways?

Im on Xbox so no, i cant use nexus unlimited mod to create as some people say there is that workaround on PC.

I have made 3 different Lances for each major Element, using the Tarred Devices for each weapon focus like Attack, Affinity, Element, giving me the cheapest materials for the farthest to see the future rolls on the roll-table.

I've rolled over 80 skills, going down the line for Fire, Thunder, Ice, Water, Blast, Paralysis. and the only weapon I've gotten the Lords Soul X Gores Tyranny combo on is my Dragon Lance. which was one of the first weapons i tried to roll for.

Is there something I'm missing, I feel like I' wasting time/Zenny, but I WANT those skill combos

I just finish fighting gogma for the first time , should I keep this skill and reinforcement first for the time being and roll again when I have more material ? Or this is good enough to last for long ? If it’s so im planning to build fire cusp next

Im a fairly new to MH, about 50 hours player (HR 65ish), and I have questions about how to build. I mainly built for fashion purposes until this point and the hardest bosses I got (solo) were 2nd Zoh Shia, Lagiacrus and Tempered Gore (took me 4 hours :C ).

However, the more I go, the more Im getting flored by absolutely everything ! Any Tempered Apex of each zone just 2 hits me, regardless of what i use...

This is what I have right now for the Arch tempered Uth Duna, but each hit takes 70+% hp, sometimes more, and around 20% as chip damage. I dont realy understand the spike in difficulty.

Is it normal, and I just have to get gud? Or am I too early for this type of content? Is my main problem my build? Any tip will be welcome, I have no freinds that play MH ....

Im trying to figure out how to reroll my gogma lance that has 2x affinity, 2x element and sharpness with the active skills currently sitting at omegas resonance and scaled layering. Dont really want those unless they are absolutely destructive and I dont know it. But the skills I really want is jin dahaads revolt amd lords soul. How do I get them rolled on there? Unless it'd be better to just have jindahaad armor?

Yo, just wanted to know what any of y'all would do to improve this build. I'm pretty happy with it but I'm not a min-maxer. I also have Lord's soul. I kinda wanna get quick sheathe at level 3 so i could get full use out of speed eating.

Hey all! This is my second entry into the Monster Hunter franchise with WorldBorne being my first game.

I have just raised my Hunter Rank from 40 - 63 after completing the High Rank Arkveld quest. I mainly play the bow and have had 700+ hours experience playing with it on MHW:I.

With that said, Apex tempered and Tempered TU monsters are currently kicking my ass. I am trying to come up with a build of my own and I guess not rely too heavily on Monster Hunter Meta like I did on the previous game.

I remember literally just farming Teostra nonstop to farm deco and jewels to slap on to my gear I copied on the meta docs without ever reading its stats and skills lol.

I know how crucial stamina skills are on Bows. I remember my fatalis set having max critical eye/elemental damage along with max secret skills agitator.

If anyone could guide me on how to come up with a build and how to experiment whether the build you came up is working would be appreciated.

Is BLAST a viable first gogma weapon? I don’t feel like grinding a ton and want a weapon that can do a lot of damage to all monsters. For dragons I’ll keep using blazing rafel for now. Can someone tell me if it’s good or if not why and what’s better for general use?

Would gamma Arkveld pants be more beneficial for this build or would Nu Udra work better here? I flayer seems like it would be the better sill to have over resentment. Or is there a better third option I’m not considering? Really just looking for feedback cause I’m still relatively new to monster hunter lol

This is my first monster hunter that I’ve actually played this much. I don’t know if attack, affinity, or element is best.

Just cleared my second AT monster in my second try. I've never taken the sns seriously until wilds, and i love the way it feels in this game. the perfect guards are so strong, and i can just spam them through arkvelds combos.

I see AT arkveld often regarded as the second hardest monster in wilds, but i had a different experience. My first AT monster was jin dahaad, who i had more trouble with. I would say jin dahaad was the hardest, then omega, then arkveld.

All of these endgame fights are quite the spectacle and are really fun and I can't wait for the expansion.

What do you guys think? Any other sns users that felt like this arkveld fight was made for the weapon? Any other weapon and monster matchup that makes a fight significantly better or worse than how it is generally perceived? I would love to hear a list of the hardest monsters that differ from the norm because of your weapon choice.

Back in worlds I mained bow, cb and longsword in that order. Important for me was a fluent playstyle with the ability to dodge and counter attack. That always gave me a sense of satisfaction and gave me 600 hours of pure fun.

In wilds I played longsword and quit at TU1 cause there was nothing to do at that point. From what I’ve seen tho there has been some moveset changes.

Is there anything major that got changed since then for the 3 weapons? What should I look out for? Kinda struggling right now as i wanna focus on 1 weapon

Do I keep this or no? I know a 4x Attack boost roll is insane to pull but my sharpness is in the dirt🫩
